Big :niceone: to the guys, it may be a H-D but you've got to admire them!!

O.K. pedants, into it and tell the world its not a ''real H-D" but it IS the same principal of V-twin engine.

Great time for a HD / Twin . V Rod's are only 1000cc I believe , so this would be nearly 2000cc plus no standard part's that come from Harley .
May be S/S or Spoth racing . They sound great ripping down the track to :2thumbsup .

I remember cars breaking into the 6 sec bracket and bikes trying to get under 9 sec...times change eh....

That would be some vicious, wicked trip down the strip, any speeds given?

It's not that much of an achievement, they were tapping on 7.00 mid season last year, but then the NHRA imposed a ballast restriction to be added to them.

The top 3 bike teams all trapped 6 second passes during testing between seasons.

Pro stock bike is a restricted class too, there are blown bikes out there running low 6's

I seem to recall some article last year advertising a harley team that just cracked a 5 second run? (5.98 or something) anyone know more about that?

that'd be one scary ride!

What made me sick was the guy looked so young, bastard!

God I'm getting old!

See the adjusted altitude was -330 feet. Helped a little me thinks but very quick for a Hardley :niceone:

Had a chat to Ross Buchanan at the Drag Nationals. He rides the nitro 'Harley'. Evidently it's a bit slow off the line but really starts running hard at about 1/2 track. I watched his next run and sure enough, it left kind of hard and then at about 1/2 track it came up on the wheelie bars.

It's 2.? litres and only revs to about 4,500rpm and I think he said the only HD bit was the rocker cover. Oh well!

Ross flies over from Oz for each meeting. Plenty volunteer to ride it but there's some problem actually getting on it with the motor running.

For the record :-)

V-rod: 1130cc 60º v-twin sporting 4 valves/cylinder, dual overhead cams, liquid cooling, and fuel injection, revs to 9,000 rpm, produces 115 hp.

I think he just meant in the region of 1000cc's

sure, wasn't nitpicking, but amazing how few ccs are needed these days to outgun the old-time muscle-cars and bikes of yesteryear...

Yep. But I can still fit bigger valves and run a bit more boost.

A reasonable 600 makes as much power as my old Moriwaki Z1 1100cc. I did like that Moriwaki F1 idle & big open pipe though.
