Reevu Helmets (Rear View)

Hey guys has anyone been aware of these?

They are helmets with an integral rear vision assembly consisting of a series of mirrors placed throughout the top of the helmet. I believe it also auto dims in the event of excessive light protrusion ie sun light, high beams.

The first thing that strikes me is that his helmet has no Sharp crash test rating.

I wouldn't risk buying an unrated helmet, or a helmet with a score less than 4 out of 5.

I think I'd have to try it out to see what it was like. It would be kinda weird being able to see what was behind you after not having it on a bike.

These cam on the scene years ago. If you trawl through the KB archives, in amongst the spiderwebs and bat shit, you should find some threads on them.
Dunno that anybody in Noo Zilund has one though...

What's wrong with just nailing a BicycleMirrorOnAStalk to your helmet? :confused:

Valid point, I'm not sure how old or how new the helmet is. Perhaps someone needs to submit the helmet to the SHARP scheme and have it tested.

Yeah i agree, it would take some getting used to and it may be a distraction to riders. However you do have to look into your peripheral vision in order to see it.

I certainly wouldn't purchase one unless it was rated by an approved association but the concept is neat.

Tried one and found it distracting and reflected sunlight off buildings was blinding. Imagine someone following on high beam. It didn't really work on my R6 either. I had to hyper extend my neck to be able to see anything in the mirror.

Having said that it would probably be fine on my Zed. Bit heavy though.
