Does anyone els get really annoyed when you on your fav road or a new road that you have found thats really cool or just any windy road, and you are having fun and then boom there is a car in front of you, and they go super amazingly slow around the corners and for some reason think they are going fast enough to not pull over and let you past on the straight thats not quite long enough to pass them on.

Don't you just hate it when you read another post about an impatient biker who just has to get past other road users who keep getting in his way...... kind of like reading about car drivers who bleet and moan about bikers all day. If other road users bother you so much.... go to a track. Cars, trucks, vans, scooters, aren't going away.... just play nice with them.

It happens all the time, just ease off and wait for your moment.

Last time that happened to me, I pulled over, turned off the engine and took off my helmet, took a few photos, had a sip of water. Jumped back on my bike and did the whole sequence car-free, went as fast as I wanted to go through the bends.

That's the story. If the line of dorks is too long, just give up. You get to savour some neat wee spots too, don't you?

Does anyone els get really annoyed when you on your fav forum or a new forum that you have found thats really cool or just any biker forum, and you are having fun and then boom there is a thread in front of you, and they go super silly about other people using the road and for some reason think they own the road and are going fast enough so that everyone else must pull over and let them past on the straight.

Yeah, most definitely.
Some do actually pull over though to let you past, and I always give them a wave in appreciation.

I don't think it's a car that you're complaining about, it's the driver :)
Four wheels > Two wheels on a windy road :P

And there was this one time at band camp ... Just ride your own ride, plenty of roads for everyone and enough days in a year to enjoy them

You're on a 250 aren't you? I don't think you should be attempting that on any 250. The 250's just aren't safe, whereas a 600 or even a 400 you can crack on some speed in just a second, and then scrub it off just as quickly.
You could ride up the white line, but thats really only suitable for straight road, there are ALL SORTS of gotchas with that, so I will leave it for someone else to coach you with that one.

DON'T ride up the white line. You'll make a habbit of it and get caught out in the wet.
Go do a track day. No cars and after all the road is not a race track and all road users have the right to travel on it.

DON'T ride up the white line. You'll make a habbit of it and get caught out in the wet.I don't make choices in traffic on the basis of habit. Everything I do is by choice and calculation at the time, on it's merits. If a person can only ride a motorcycle on the basis of their habits, then they shouldn't be riding a motorcycle - everything gets reviewed on an ongoing basis.
It's perfectly feasible to ride the white line. In the wet, the white line will be slippery, but you should not be white-lining on corners. Yes, you might slip a tyre while braking on the slippery white line, but why are you braking hard here? Why is your speed differential so high? What did you miss?

Cars are NOt stupid, any more than motorcycles are dangerous!
They just 'are'.
Take a chill pill and don't sweat the little things.

Nothing. I just wouldn't advise a learner to go anywhere near road markings.

you could always just get a decent bike that can actually overtake.
i'm picking the the car driver was thinking 'who's this pussy bike rider behind me that can't even pass me'

Nothing. I just wouldn't advise a learner to go anywhere near road markings. While on the face of it that is good advice (slippery fuckers!), what happens is it instills a fear of white lines on the newbie and they panic when forced to ride on one.
you could always just get a decent bike that can actually overtake. And that is the issue isn't it, but he can't because he's a newbie(?), so... he's stuck with his present situation. His only option is to cool it.
Newbs on little bikes are not in a good situation are they? Cagers follow them too closely, can't pass to get out of trouble, passing takes ages, shit tyres and wet white lines don't mix - it's all just asking fer trouble.

You said it. One of the hardest part of learning to survive riding is to keep it cool.

I know what you're missing. About 750 more cc. Flicking the throttle will make it stand up on one wheel and overtake those shitboxes without breaking a sweat.

Unfortunately drivers will be drivers ... and you have to maintain a degree of patience even when they are being complete idiots ... at the same time, regardless of whether or not it is your 'favourite road' cars can't drive as fast, and no a lot of people don't realise the are holding a bike up!

I beg to differ. Cars are better than bikes on corners and windy roads, if you compare equivilant apples to apples, not Lada to Ducati.
In a straight line, bikes have it ALL THE WAY to the pub.

true true because a Ferrari 360 isn't exactly there for anyone who wants a sports car, mainly because its not in there price range but for Bikkies we can get a Yamaha R1 for unda 20K
Well...this thread wasn't going too well for you for a start, but hasn't turned out too bad in the end.

Dude or dudette that your following is probably thinking, 'what the fuck is this clown attatched to my bumper going to do' 'why won't he back off... fuck he's still there... jeez'
my point: attention is on the tail gater and not on the road in front, hence slowing down.
Back off a bit. Then do your thing when you get a chance.

yea true but i tend to not tail gate as id rather not end up on there boot if they stop quicker than i can react and stop

Hmm, patience is a virtue which all motorists would be better off developing. A great many accidents are initiated by an impatient impulse - regardless of number of wheels. Motorcyclists are often encouraged, tacitly and overtly, to barge their way around anyone getting in their way - noobs can sometimes feel the pressure to "be a real biker" and rip their way past all sorts of obstacles (mainly the sort with 4 wheels). But a proper "real" rider will adapt and ride according to each situation, even if that means reining in the throttle and accepting that your "blast" might turn more into a "pootle". Ride in a way to live long enough to enjoy both!

i love nothing more than getting stuck behind a slower vehicle [not including cattle trucks!!] cos it forces me to sit back and enjoy the ride. first time i went down south i got stuck behind a camper... best way to see the other island for the first time.
