When I try and flick my left indicators on the flasher relay makes a horrible buzzing noise and neither lights actually light up fully or flash, if I remove the front bulb (haven't tried the back one) the back one will light up. I can assume this is the flasher relay that is fucked. The problem is that when I try the right indicators the rear one lights up but the front one doesn't. I tried swapping over the bulbs with no luck. Could this also be the flasher relay or something else?

My bike is to be seen over by someone qualified next wednesday, so these never ending questions of mine should be coming to an end..

you could be right with the flasher relay, but if neither front is working you might have an earth wire either corroded, or disconnected, trace the wires back from both front indicators and see if they are all good where they connect , usually with bullet connectors!. :niceone:

the other thing to bear in mind is the front and back bulbs might be different wattages. I had this for about 2 weeks with a bike I built. I thought the relay was shagged, when actually it was one of the bulbs wasn't strong enough (or too strong, I forget). Point is, *if* your relay might be on the way out, taking out one of the bulbs will let it work again, but taking out the other might leave it struggling and fail.

However, cos you mention only one side, I'd be inclinded to agree with betti about it being a faulty wire around that bulb. Unfortunately there can be a fair bit of wire (hidden too) to check.. Also, depending on the relay, I think some might have a right and left output, so may be check around the relay too..

bet that didn't answer a thing, did it?!

Ok, I'll replace the relay and see what happens. Would a bike shop be able to look at the indicators or would I need to take it to an auto electrician?
