Has been posted before.. but V interesting !!
.Rossi made an interesting comment I thought after the race when he said been "thinking about that last pass for 2 weeks before the race".....is that planning or what ! I 'spose at that level & having spent so many hours on these tracks that the riders must have a very good idea of where opportunities may arise & that alot of the practice sessions would be working out where they need to be under such & such a set of circumstances.....awesome!!

And the other talking point of the race...
Julian Simon in the 125's crossing the line the clear leader with a lap to go only he thinks the race is over.

Whats the bet, that if Rossi and lorenzo end up doing such close battles im the future, that Lorenzo will make a mistake costing them both?

Seems pretty likely to me. It seemed to me that Rossi was baiting him into a crash the whole race.
First with the attempt to gap Lorenzo from the start.
Second by letting him past to see if Lorenzo would crash trying to gap Rossi.
Third by passing on the 4th to last lap, letting him slipstream past on the next lap then showing him some late braking skills.
Rossi isn't stupid enough to make a move that far from the finish without a plan so he was obviously playing mind games. I think Lorenzo dug deeper than he expected though.
You gotta feel for Lorenzo as he must have thought he'd done enough.
How was Lorenzo muttering "wait till the next one" after Rossi gave him a hug after the race  He wasn't a happy camper.

Lorenzo IS THE NEXT ROSSI:wari: But just needs another full season to smooth things out a bit I think

I agree with you there Shaun. Jorge shows all the pedigree, intelligence and temperament as well as that little X factor to be so. And I think Rossi knows that as well. The mind games with Jorge he plays are more subtle than with previous rivals (ie punching Biaggi or telling Stoner to basically HTFU after Laguna)

George is my pick to be the next star, but I think the next "Rossi" will be a while in the making.
Consider the guys acheivments, then imagine setting that as a goal. To huge a task to fathom.
To my mind he IS the best GP racer the world has ever seen, and I would like to think he deserves that accolade for some time to come.
