It would seem that Nelson police realise they have a problem, or somebody else realises they do. The U-turner from two weeks ago is going before the judge (http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/2503961/Police-officer-charged-over-U-turn-crash) :Police::doh:

Tasman police have charged another officer for causing a crash by doing a U-turn in pursuit of a speeding motorist. (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10578767)

The officer had been charged with careless driving after a June 1 crash, after he allegedly did a U-turn on State Highway 6 in Nelson to pursue a speeding vehicle.

He failed to see a following car, and collided with it.

His unmarked police car and the other vehicle suffered moderate damage, Senior Sergeant Stu Koefoed of Nelson Police said today.

No one was injured.

The officer would appear in Nelson District Court on July 3.

"He is also required to complete a formal driver assessment by a police driving assessor," Mr Koefoed said.

Last month, a Blenheim police officer was convicted of two charges of dangerous driving after he did a U-turn in the Buller Gorge in 2007 to pursue a speeding motorcylist.

His action seriously injured two oncoming motorcyclists.

Anthony Dale Bridgman, 58, was ordered to pay each of his victims $30,000 reparation, undertake 100 hours of community service and was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Bridgman, now retired from the police force after 35 years' service, was a Blenheim-based highway patrol sergeant at the time of his December 2007 crash.

His crash was also on State Highway 6.

Well, with the amount of them tooling about looking for something to do around here, its odds on that they'll make a blue sooner or later....
Take it easy Mr :Police:....you know the roads dodgey round here & watch what the fuck yer doing as too many of us have had to deal with your dodgey manoeuvres,'specially down the gorge....I struggle to find places to turn safely anywhere down here,& Ive seen it to many times where they'll cut off traffic (who was driving that day 2 years before the "big crash" in the Buller gorge, when you jammed on yer brakes & U-eed with no indicators in front of my 2 mates?....:tugger:) That was farkin close.:nono:

Otherwise keep up the good work......

Either way it would be 'driving without due care and attention' wouldn't it ?

It's funny how his driving ability is going to be assessed by another copper, don't you think? Tossers. Where's the independent assessor?

It would be less funny if a motorcyclist had rammed into the cop car.

At least they have charged him and not covered it up. I know we all love to hate the cops, i do myself right after i have been given a ticket, but i sure as hell wouldn't ride out there if they wernt patrolling and stopping some of the ignorant tossers out there

Don't you mean, "Burn him!"?

Not so fast; there is no evidence to say that the perp' is a witch.

Ah, to hell with it, burn him anyway.
