View Full Version : F'sail. My VFR

My profile pic shows it soon after I painted it. However, due to my hooliganish nature, it's a bit worse for wear currently.
The fairings are scuffed. Easily repairable, just I haven't got the facilities to do so.
High k's, rough condition. Currently rego'd and warranted, though it'll take some work to receive the next warrant.
The bottom radiator is leaking due to a low side last week. The rear tyre is half worn, the front is still new. Brand new brake disks up front are warped. The rear shock has had a recent rebuild. Battery is dying. Low beams, neutral light and tail lights work intermitently.
The carbs seem a little clogged. Low and high revs are sweet, but midrange coughs a bit.
No smoke after start up. Zorsts muffler sounds exceptional. Second best sounding bike ever after Nico's VFR800.
The money I'm asking will not recoup the thousands spent on it, and the couple of thousand still remaining on it's loan. However there is no money owing on the vehicle itself, the loan was secured onto my Dad's car.
Selling it to free up space in the garage and use the money to repair my other projects.
Pretty set on price. If no one is willing to pay that much, it'll be left to decay next to me in my grave.
This will certainly be an excellent bike that'll see the next owner through several years or tireless reliability and outstanding performance as it's final jab toward me.

Hey
Good luck with the sale, was looking at it the other day mint, if I had the money I would grab it and get it back looking how you had it.
Are you sure you want to sell it man? Worst decision of my life selling the CBR.

I don't want to get rid of it. But I don't have the time, money, effort and sanity to keep the thing going. It's been nothing but a horror to me. I shouldn't be putting good money into bad, but this thing always makes me do so. Lost my girlfriend since this thing was soaking up all my money and making me depressed. Every time I needed to rely on it, it'd fail me. The worst decision in my life was buying this thing.
The only thing that has made me hang onto it for so long is knowing that I've poured roughly $6000 into it and it has led nowhere. I know that it'll become a faithful bike to someone else and all that money I earnt and burnt will only benefit the next smug owner.

Have you considered a career in sales?

Have you considered a career in sales?
Yes actually. I've asked Crasherfromwayback about a job.
However, in this case, I want to tell the truth so the person that takes advantage of me and buys it can't turn around and expect to get their money back. Plus I would really like to hold on to it as I know I'll regret selling it.

Got no other interest so you've probably got some time to think about it :p
Able to pick up the thing from all the way in Auckland? I could use an excuse to go to Manfeild or Taupo if you want to meet half way. If you're keen of course. Fully understand desiring a car, just got myself one lately. FORD LASER BABY!!!
