Why are there outdated featured posts in the middle section of the home page? This detracts from an otherwise up to date site.

Because that is what happens sometimes. Do you have a better home page worthy thing to post there? If so PM a mod and ask if it can replace what is there. If you dont ask, they dont do.

I guess I assumed someone would maintain the home page - but then maybe that is too much to expect.

New stuff pushes old stuff down. No point removing old stuff because you'll only end up with even older stuff.

Thanks for that, so the page is coded for 5 items on display. The answer is to get some newer items to post.
