If there've actually been river deltas, then the likelihood of finding evidence of life, or even life itself, has a high degree of probability.
Exciting stuff, eh.

LOL OMG its Bigfoot! On Mars!!!!
Of course there's life on other planets, just probably a wee way away. If life is ever found, I find it hard to believe it will be anything recognisable anyway.
Heh heh Bigfoot...

I haven't fully figured out the current lot, but the previous ones I'm sure came from Uranus.

Men are from Mars....
The human mind is fantastic machine. The way we can see faces and patterns and similarities with things on our own planet.
I don't recall enough of my astronomy about the creation of the Solar System to know whether Mars could have supported Carbon based life for even the briefest of moments.
But those images are allow our imaginations to see similarity and our conclusion is therefore someone (not dissimilar to us) created them.
I see pictures of peoples faces in my curtains at night, with the right light if I look hard enough.
Sure those pictures bear an uncanny resemblence, but has about as much relevance to whether Kennedy preferred Coke or Pepsi to whether Mars had its own ecosystem.
It's a god-awful small affair.

Recognisable as what? I watched a doco' recently on NZ's studies on the sea floor toward Antarctica. Amazing it was. I think it was something like 2,500 new species discovered in the one exercise. It's going to take years to go through all the data/pics and samples.
We are still discovering species on our own planet that we can't communicate with (mind you, there are some that we're familiar with that we can't communicate with also) so if any other life forms are found on another planet (our solar system or another) I'm willing to bet a quick "Howzit going matey?" won't cut it. The alien life form will either ignore you or blast you into next February with some whizz-bang light sabre or whatever.
Still, worth a look eh?
Why are all big foots have the same body posture?
P.S. Is that a zip on it's back?
