PEOPLE for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is upset with Barack Obama killing a fly during a televised interview - and are sending him a parcel to prove it.

PETA is sending President Barack Obama a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it outside.

"We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals," PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich said Wednesday. "We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals."

PETA aren't all bad. A little extreme sometimes, but there are a few things that they've done that I am grateful for...
1: They drew attention to the Chinese fur trade... http://www.peta.org/feat/chineseFurFarms/index.asp I double-dog-dare you to watch the video in full.
2: They drew attention to the Japanese horse slaughterhouses... https://secure.peta.org/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=2103 Sure, we need dog food, but overbreeding in the USA (funny that, the U.S damand for fur is the reason the Chinese fur trade exists) is the drive behind this nasty way of dispatching the excess... all in the name of gambling. Awesome stuff.

There's loads more... Seal clubbing, Battery pig and hen farming etc... PETA are a bunch of idealist extremists but MOST of what they do is expose practices that most everyday people wouldn't condone.
