Will be heading back from Taupo trackday so I won't be able to make it. I might stop by Manfeild or the buckets at some stage during the day though. Good luck and have fun to those who head to Kaitoke!

I'm gonna go play on the 600 at Manfeild this weekend. Seems most are going to be there. You should come up to Manfield fishy.

Still stuck in the UK so no go for me. Also will be heading straight up to Auckland when I get back so will not be back on the Wellington track until possibly the December meet.
Good luck with the rest of the season.
Cheers,

I will be there.
Sounds like some people need to be reminded of what a great track it is and what a well run day it will be. The weather looks good. I would like to go and watch at manfield but riding is much more fun. Did I mention riding is more fun than watching???

Well?... Where's the reports? Did anyone go? Did it rain?
Report of sorts.
In a valley far far away surrounded by snow covered mountains 5 men and machines prepared to battle (yes snow not that far away).
Anyway. We ran in reverse direction for a change. I crashed on the practice it was far more slippery than first anticipated and I had me fancy new shock completely setup wrong.
After a quick word to fish shock was sorted and I was ready for action. 1st race all went well apart from being left for dead buy Andrew and Fishy. (Story of the day). We were given a transponder to us and was interesting to see the laptimes Fish in the wet 49 something. Now having a transponder was a double edged sword for me as I really wanted to get good times. Well lets just say I was a bit keen at the start of the race and forgot it was raining. I decided to go through a corner one gear higher and on the gas. It was never going to happen, spazed out garbed a handful of front and preceded to entertain dean who was right behind me. The pain has almost turned in stiffness. I am sure you know what I mean.(still hurts to laugh).
The rest of the day was still fun. Andrew and Fish battling it out for the lead all day, can't remember who won what but Andrew got one over Mr Fish.
Well thats all I can be assed writing so I hope there are more of us next time.
Should have some slicks sorted buy then yee ha.
Cheers Rich.

Thats not going to help with staying upright in the wet:sweatdrop
What shock do you end up using to replace that FXR pogo stick you had?

yeh that shock was beyond fixing. I ended up getting an Adjustable YSS shock from Australia. Used the FXR spring to save a little money. They did a race package for the CBR series over there front springs, valves and a rear shock $500. The build quality is really good. I just could not find anything to replace the busted fxr one.
I recon a good set of slicks will run rings around the dunlops tt900s I have got. I used to think the opposite but not anymore. I have used both and think the slick are better.

Thought I to would put in a quick report. I had a good day without a crash! The thought still seams strange. There was lots of slipping and sliding going on though. When we thought the weather was going to clear it started to rain. Thats what you often get on the shortest day of the year. I think the last 4 meetings have been wet this one the 5th. I wonder what it will be like to ride on a dry track?
Thanks to those that came along.

A good set of slicks beats tt900 hands down anytime wet or dry
the only time I may say otherwise and my sholder will agree is when the is a meter of waten on the track. Then the tread in the tt900 may be a bit of help
not nocking the tt900 they are the best you can get for 18" rims (ok ok apart from brigstone bt39ss??? )
ps I belive you cant buy tt900 anymore New

the last lot I brought where $100 each NEW but have been told they dont do them anymore (bring them into the country)
and at $300 each for slicks I havent got the cash for new (but they are much nicer than 3 year old ones)
I had TT900's the first year I was there
slicks the second year (Keith Biddle brought my bike home in first place in the last race that year) (I struggles on his cb125 till I relised it didn't make any power under 12000 rpm )
and I had the rs frame for last year
wonder what I can come up with this year to try and get around the fact I cant ride :crybaby: :bash:
It's always fun so will bring a smile watever

3 year old slicks? Bloody new mate!
My last favorite front slick on the 50 I took off after the BOB last year. Had used it for years, bought it off Sally & was one that Dennis used qualifying his 125 for Philip Island GP in 97 I think. Figured it was pretty much used up by then but had won many races & a couple of GPs on that tyre.

I got a new Bridgestone soft GP125 front and on the back a Pirelli off the front of a 600 I found in the bin at the bike shop. The front will let go but you have to be pretty hard on the brakes and be pitching it in as well. The rear will slide but you have to deliberately be trying to slide it.
I gave Olly an old slick I had under my bench years ago. It was OLD. Next thing I know Olly is riding round the outside of me in the sweeper. It took a bit of scrubbing in evidently but obviously came right.
