On the news tonight the health minister is saying that due to the proliferation of virus spread through Auckland Wellington and Christchurch they are now changing tack regarding strategy. Rather than trying to contain they are now putting out guidelines of how to avoid spreading it.
Bloody hell, shock horror, OMG I can't believe it - one of the "new" ads which presumably will be airing on tv soon tell us "and remember, cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze". Is it just me or didn't that used to be just good manners? Although I'm old fashioned enough to still believe you should do that even when you yawn.
What has happened to our sense of hygiene and courtesy when we have to have a national ad campaign reminding us of something that, personally, I've always taken for granted should be done.
Oh, and remember to wash your hands people. Bloody hell.
I am working at a place that has staff travelling between Aussie and here every 2 weeks on rotation. There are 2 teams, so each week there are staff coming/going to Aussie. The boss came back at the beginning of the week, full of the flu! Fucken hell. Coughing and sneeezing, told him to piss off home and not bring his pig flu to work. Must have been the right thing to say, he went home and did not come back for the rest of the week.
The rest of us poor office bound types have been working with these bugs coming and going for the past few weeks. But we have it sussed
The place smells like a hospital, really it does. Everyday the place is sanitised top to bottom. There is even talk of bringing in some of that hand sanitiser stuff to have scattered about the place. It is actually nice to know that the boss is happy to spend the money to keep the place as germ free as they can.
I agree with you too btw, common decency and good manners suggest you cover your mouth when you cough, sneeze or what have you. Unless you get caught out with one of those unexpected events :o
