Hi All

I'm taking a good friend out to dinner and she would like to go to a bar or pub for the meal.

So Therefore i call upon the land known as KB to give me the guidance to find the best bar or pub in auckland prefer areas below

North shore
auckland city
east auckland

Would like there to be a nice view of the night lights of city

Could you all lovely souls on this site help out

P.S. Be a bonus if the place had pool tables

If you go somewhere there is a Hotel then you don't have to travel far afterwards to have sex. ;-)

So I'm thinking Orbit at the top of the Sky Tower. No pool tables.

Sorry dude but i'm not like that i respect ladies to just dine them and then bed them they deserve better than that - As the guys on Target say "Shame on you"

Yeah sounds good but you forget she wants a bar or pub meal more so a pub meal and Sky tower to flash she doesnt like that

Careful not to give out too much information Big Dan OR you may have a couple of hundred bikers cheering you on :)

That place at Northcote Point is pretty good and has a great view.

I wouldn't go there myself as they don't have any pool tables.

Hammerheads on the way round to Mission bay a bit more classy, but nice views and nice food and beer.

The one I was thinking of was right on the point and almost on the water. No idea what it is called. I don't even know if it is still open as they made the fatal business mistake of not have a pool table.

This one is good though: http://www.menulog.co.nz/sausalito_cafe/contact

I'd forget about Hammerheads. Whilst the food is good, it would be cheaper to hire a couple of tarts for the night and be on a sure thing.

Good luck.

Speakers Corner Ale House in Browns Bay.

Right on the beach front.....after the pub meal and pool you can go for a lovely little winter midnight meander to gain some "brownie" points :blip: :niceone:

The Malthouse, Greenhite. A nice 'local' bar/restaurant. Food is pretty decent, and the place was recently 'flashed up' a bit to make it a bit more 'contemporary'.

Otherwise you can't go past Hallertau's on Coatesvilled-Riverhead Highway. AWESOME beer, awesome food, and hot waitresses. They also do lots of local wines including fruit wines (feijoa!) and some locally brewed ciders as well.

So if she says "come on big dan give it to me right here right now" you'll say "no sorry I can't as I respect you too much"?? Tui.....

The "Bluestone room"
http://www.thebluestoneroom.co.nz/
If you are interested in Central Auckland, it has really good food and a great atmosphere. It doesn't have pool tables but is only a few minutes walk from places that do.

+1 for this

Fanfarkentastic food!! The woodfire pizzas are .......just faken yum!!!

They have this really cool hole in the floor, plated with glass by the bar, looks like it goes down farken miles, which provides some giggles watching new punters freak out!

Last time I was there they had a "Grab a Granny" night.

Had to show your ID to prove you was over 30 ... hahahaha.

Was a good night too.

I saw a dog today, walking down the road outside home. Thing was, it was ALL ON ITS OWN!

Why the hell can people not keep their animals fenced properly? Jesus christ, when we got Sprocket we spent a shitload of money making sure she could not exit the property without being on her lead.

And that's what really grinds my gears.

Dan-- Spencer is quite a reasonable hotel. Darn good views if you get a chance get a seaview room and as high up as possible
If I could suggest dude you are going about this all wrong.
2 minutes drive away from Spencer is a pub with pool tables called the Sin Bin. (the food isnt too flash)
But literally meters away is a whole strip of nice food places from pizza to fancy.
If you want relaxed/fun/classyish try Dicocu--its a heap of fun. I Personally reccomend it
Aubergines just over the road does a fantastic feed if you want to impress.
If you guys get a tadd over the limit you could stagger to Spencer in 5-10 minutes.
Another place down the waterfront in town is called Wildfire -they do stone grill food which if you havent done it is cool fun. -Then theres a pool place 100m away. A stroll around the harbour at night is cool with all the boats and fancy lights.
Round Mission bay theres a place called Santa Luciano which usually has live music. Its really nice italian.
From memory theres a danish beer hall where mcdonalds used to be with pool tables.
Out west auckland theres a place called The Hanger on central park drive. Again stone grill -try the 4 meat selection. THey have pool tables upstairs and later on turn into a bit of a night club on a thurs,fri.sat.

What grinds my gears is.....people who talk too much, you can never get a word in and when you want to leave you cant get away from them.
