Just got back from a premier that the edge radio station put on and I must say! EPIC movie! Bloody good. A fair few funny parts in it as well. Well worth your money to go watch!

Watched it twice at the cinemas.
Bootlegged some Vodka and bourbon into the first screenings, so not much point there. Watched the second time, bleck. Cool and shit, but way too much boomy stuff at the end. Looks bril in 1080p, though.

Never beats the original cartoons of the 80s I say! :headbang:

I thought the first one was very interesting visually, and possibly the stupidest concept/plot ever, but it's a cartoon so that doesn't really matter.
Will be seeing it this evening.
I didn't really like the first one tbh, it was like.... a kids cartoon made with serious budget, graphics, guns and action.
Hope the plot is better.

They had the aussie girl who stars in it on Rove the other night. I hope the interview wasn't any indication of her acting ability. But then maybe that's not what people go to see ;)

I think the Aussie girl was the one in the first movie (blonde) she annoyed me through the whole movie running around in highheels, I hope she is wearing more suitable footwear for fighting evil robots in the second movie. :D
Got to take my son to it Saturday Night, we are both looking forward to it.

If you girls are talking about Megan Fox, then no acting is required.

If she even tries to act I'd be disappointed.
Her role is to be the smokin hot skank.
Never heard of any blond Aussie chick in the movie?

Plot! BAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHA
I don't think plot was on the list of requirements for the Transformer movies.
They got to
1. Megan Fox
2. See 1
3. Fancy visual effects and LOTS of them
4. See 1
Did anyone notice it wasn't my kind of movie??
Are IMDB reviewers just plain angry Americans or is the movie really that bad?
Oh well I'll find out at 7:30.

www.rottentomatoes.com is a pretty good site.
I find it better as a rating guide for movies. But IMDB has more fun stuff ABOUT the movie... trivia, goofs etc.
Between the two sites you will get a pretty good idea if you will like the movie or not.
It was OK.
Goods
Lots and lots of machines, vehicles and military stuffs.
Again, there are some (lots!) sexual reference involved.
Lots of good vehicles (aircraft, bikes, and cars)
Bad
No plot?
No logic?
It's science fiction afterall! But still Harry Potter and Aliens Quadriology's got the logics and facts right!
In a nutshell
It's a kids movie made with serious budget but aimed for adults (again).
For me, personally, I should have waited 6 months for the movie to become recent released at the local video shop.
If I rate, I'll give 6.5/10

Fucking rubbish movie. Avoid.
This is why I pirate movies. To make up for when Hollywood ASS-RAPES me for the $15 I just donated to their coffers.
It's as if they got the basic premise for a movie, and then told the writers to go and take the next two months off in the Bahamas.
It's like they realised "Oh shit, we can't afford a plot, continuity, character development or even a half-decent script... let's just add EVEN FOOKIN' MOAR robots fighting and hope they don't notice!
In the entire movie, there was only ONE line that even got a chuckle from the audience. The action scenes were so incredibly CGI it was just comical. The writers also failed to realise that whilst you can usually have a few scenes where the audiences can suspend their disbelief due to the sheer "awesomeness" of what is on screen, the only way to miss the stupidity throughout this movie is to reduce yourself to the level of your average American.
Let's face it guys - the best part of this movie is actually the trailers before it.

I actually thought it was awesome.
I dont sit there and think about lack of plot etc if im actually engaged in watching a movie. Plus I cant make better so I dont act like I can.

MASSIVE cgi budget and lots of "things going BOOM", which I agree is all fu*king epic. However, it had nothing (IMHO) on the new Terminator movie.

Oh I totally agree with you. These movies have very poor story lines and most people know that when they go to watch a big budget movie, with hot but talentless actors. Maybe they need to write a disclaimer: 'WARNING the cgi you are about to see, is the only credible factor this film has to offer. Please enjoy'. Did you think the same of Wolverine??
Being a big fan of Terminator series, I quite liked the Terminator 4. It wasn't half bad.

Hahaha, and I loved the original looking Arnie terminator (complete with mysterious swirling smoke hiding all the potentially interesting bits )
Haven't seen Revenge of the Fallen but son reckons it was great.

Given that the average moviegoer is, as a presumably average specimen of humanity, an idiot, I prefer to rely on the word of critics whose tastes I've learned to trust.
The Rotten Tomatoes rating (http://au.rottentomatoes.com/) is a very reliable indicator, and for in-depth reviews I like to read James Berardinelli (http://www.reelviews.net/).
I'm looking forward to the Terminator movie, which I think deserves to be watched stoned.

There is an 'original' Arnie one, which fights with John Connor and the human hybrid. (Just no Schwarzenegger.....)

Hated that the bikes werent more involved in the action, but oh well.

I have to agree, Megan Fox is a hottie (if not a little porn starish) and I thought a hot chick riding a R1 was cool until I read this: "I am supposed to ride one in the movie but I can’t actually ride one so they are going to have someone push me on it into the frame. We did that already but I think we are going to have to re-shoot it because it did not look very realistic," Fox said in an interview.

I am sure the bike she is riding is an aprillia rs150 or rs125 or rs250. Definitely sounded 2 stroke.
But this one i found is the rsv1000r

Not going to argue there.
Surely they had enough time to teach her to ride. how hard can it be to teach someone to ride into the scene. Lazy bastards. Girls riding bikes is hot :D

Suzuki B-King me thinks.
You would be correct and she has a name - Chromia (see pic 1). The other two bikes are a MV Augusta and a 1098. (See pics 2 & 3) A Buell Firebolt was intended to be one but was dropped. (Piccy 4)
megan fox on an r1 or r6
Im picking an RS125, certainly wasnt a bike larger than 250cc

But this one i found is the rsv1000r
Picture is of a RS125 - too thin for anything else above 250cc and only has a single front disc.
What did I think of the movie? Hmm not bad if youre into awesome CGI! Didnt mind the 2-1/4hr eye candy...

No, the reason that most reviews about this movie rate it poorly is because reviewers do not cater solely for the lowest common denominator of the movie-watching classes.

Meh. Plotline :whocares: Bah. There's no need for that! There's robots, shooting, explosions and hot chics. What else could you want???
1vanvan1
29th June 2009, 21:47
I don't understand how people say it doesn't have a plot line?
There are bad robots trying to get a hold of the key to start that big machine. good robots are trying to stop them. There is a beginning a middle and a end. What else do you need.
I grew up watching transformers and playing with the toys etc so I guess that made it even more appealing to me.
Everyone seems to be bad mouth it for having a bad plot ... That is what i don't understand.
A-Plot is a cinema and television term referring to the plotline that drives the story. This doesn't necessarily mean it's the most important, but rather the one that forces most of the action.
If you were awake the whole movie, or didn't walk out, the plot line obviously wasn't that bad. Get off your high horse.

Saw it on Saturday with my Son. Okay I didnt like it as much as the first, but it was still pretty good. It did what it intended and that was to entertain. Now I have to go see it again with my son who has been collecting all the newspaper articles about the movie. At least he is back playing with his Bumble Bee toy that I brought him a few years ago that cost me an arm and a leg!
