Damn. Not only do we have the ninth frost in a row this morning (-1.7C), we have fog as well. I can just make out the house across the road and that's about it. Guess Serafina stays in the shed today....bloody winter! What the hell happened to global warming then? Bastards!
We should petition the gubbermint to have winter banned - just like smacking ya kids...

I am making an early morning trip down your way on Tuesday, it would be wonderful if you could arrange for there to be no fog for me. I have to negotiate my way to my daughters new house. Nothing worse than attempting to find somewhere you have never been when you cant read the road signs. I saw Hamilton on the weather this morning and cringed.

Something not very nice about coming over the brow of the Bombays and not being able to tell where the land finishes and the sky starts.

Forsty mornings and sunny days is better than non-stop rain.

the thing that pisses me off about winter isnt the frost or cold, its all the bloody grit that gets spread all over the road.

Frosty mornings with fog do not equal sunny days - not in the Tron they don't anyway...more likely cloud cover all day and a maximum temp of around 8C if we are really lucky...must be different in Matamata huh..?

Where you heading for then?

I have to have my daughter at Waikato Hospital for 7:30am :shit:

Nothing beats a 4am start on a cold winter morning, followed by a drive through pea soup frozen fog though

At least she is living back in the city now, not Cambridge.

Bleh, if I didn't ride my bike to work then I would have to take the train. On wet days I get to work dryer on the bike with all my gear on then walking 15 mins to the train in the wet without cover. There are many other reasons why I would rather brave the weather on my bike than take the train, like other people!

Oh yeah, riding to work is waaay cheaper than the train too!

Must agree.... I'm so over this winter. Its certainly been sucking most of the fun out of my daily commute.

You expect cold days but usually more warmer days than cold. This year that ratio has been reversed and we havn't even got to July and August yet!

Friggin' 'ell! I thought last week was manky - today makes me realise I was "somewhat deluded"...not only is it bloody cold it is pissy wet as well...my bike was looking balefully at me this morning when I went into the garage...I'm almost sure it muttered something about "fuckin' pussy arse scared to get wet might dissolve goddam pansy"

Have to say thanks for turning out a perfect weathr day for me today. Arrived in the tron at 6:10am, little bit chilly but clear skies and dry roads. Managed to stay warm all day long, though that wind was a bit chilly outside when I braved it. Left tonight about 6pm, drove home with clear skies and dry roads.

All in all a good trip. Absolutely knackered now to be fair, something really wrong about setting an alarm to gt up at 3:45am

All went well, my big girl is at home and no doubt sound asleep, she is on crutches for a few days, but hopefully she will be able to start wearing shoes again once everything heals up.

Great to hear Mom...I was thinking about you both yesterday.

I did my best with the weather for you - took a little effort but then, mind over matter y'know...bit of concentration managed to drive off the rain demons...

All the best to your big girl...

Well we got a nice sunny day today...and another promised for tomorrow. The old breeze has a little bit of an edgy tooth to it though...pity I am at work - else I would be out riding...
