Hey what are some helmets that fit glasses in them ok? I had a look at some helmets today. Only one helmet let me wear my glasses in it.... it cost $900. No thank you.
So i'm after a more cost effective helmet that I can still wear my glasses with.

Hey dude, I use an HJC Helmet, and that works fine for me. Good luck.

I have never had a problem wearing glasses in any helmet...are your specs particularly bulky or summat?
You could always try contacts...

I've got a KBC TK-8, which works really well with my glasses.
It can depend on your glasses as well, when I was buying new frames, I noticed that some frames worked well with the helmet, and some did not. The main problem I find is that the top of cheek padding in some helmets will push on the arms of my glasses, and then the lenses don't sit at the right height.

+1, I've never had a problem either. It's always a bit snug (or should be).
However I tend to ride with contacts. One thing you need to watch. The [at least in my case] contacts need to sit on your eye a certain way around. In my case, the "bottom" of the contacts are heavier than the top, to make sure this happens. Sometimes when on a bike I find they can drift to the wrong part of the eye blurring vision.

My Shoei Raid II is fine.
But like others have said, most helmets I haven't had a problem with.
And contacts are good too, but I found you pretty much HAVE to ride visor down with them in.

I think it's one of those individual things - the shape of your glasses, the shape of your face, the shape of your helmet...
My partner wears his glasses really easily with his HJC helmet but when I try wearing my sunnies with mine, the slots in the padding (where the arms of the glasses should go) just seem to be in completely the wrong place.
When my partner goes on long rides he makes sure he wears contacts, but around town he wears his glasses. It's really entertaining watching him trying to put his helmet on or take it off when he's forgotten he has his glasses on.

Try a HJC CLmax flip front. Good helmet for glasses retails $299.

+1 for what Rosie says... I use a KBC (a TK-8 from memory) with glasses (normal and sunnies) and it works well... just make sure you spend some time trying 'em on as each pair of glasses sit differently and has different pressure points in a helmet
I have 3 pairs of glasses and only 1 really fits comfortably with the helmet.

+1 for flip face lids for having to deal with wearing specs

I use an FFM flip-up and would never go back to a solid full-face helmet. My helmet is slightly on the large side which wasn't a good thing originally - blurred vision - but have fixed that by wearing a balaclava. Plus its quieter too.

Me too. CL15 then a FJ15 both fit glasses well

Helmets and glasses isn't just about the helmet. Most often it's about the glasses. Not all frames work well inside a helmet or with any sort of pressure on the frame's arms.
Buy a helmet that fits, you like and can afford. Then toodle off down to your local neighbourhood optometrist and experiment with types of frames. Once the optom understands what it is you're looking to achieve, they will be able to offer constructive advice.
They may even try to sell you a prescription visor...

It would be cheaper to just buy the $900 helmet than new glasses.... really don't want to have to go down the new glasses road just yet...

Plod: "Licence please."
Rider: Hands over licence.
Plod: "Says here you wear glasses. Why aren't you?"
Rider: "I have a prescription visor, sir."
Plod: "But your visor was up."
Rider: "It was fogging up so I flipped it up."
Plod: "Well you'll have to flip it down again or be in breach of your licence conditions."
Rider: "But I won't be able to see where I'm going."
Plod: "That's your problem. Have a nice day."
Edit: Shoei Raid II works with all my glasses. Retails around $499 iirc

my eye sight is so great without my glasses if I had a precription visor and it was fogged up I would be staying on the side of the road until it unfogged. Other wise I may as well try riding with my eyes shut.

Damn right. Unless Hitcher knows some really budget eye doctor, you are best to stick with what you have. :headbang: Last optometry bill I had was $700.

Always been a problem for me.
The arms of the glasses are too uncomfortable, so I got a helmet with a sliding shade.
I haven't tried them with my HJC.

I had laser eye surgery 5 years back. Apparently it is impossible for the licensing authority to cope with changing from:
Wears Glasses: YES
to
Wears Glasses: NO
I just state that I am wearing contact lenses.
I'd be surprised if they asked me to open my eyes wide to check.

3rd Mention in this post: Shoei RAID II works well for me.
A nice helmet too!
I was browsing the web checking out the latest Caberg helmets and one model had the description "channel for wearing glasses" which I assume means they have allowed room for your specks.
Otherwise, the best cure is laser surgery! Sorry about the cost though.

Yep the Nolan N102 works good for me too.

I use 2 Zeus helmets and wear glasses.
803 is a cheap but reasonable quality full face that has a channel for the glasses. Real easy to put them on and OK to race in.
Zeus flip top for road riding.

ensure your temples (the thingees on the end of your legs of your specs) are smooth shiny plastic - not the rubber sort. I replaced the rubbery ones on my legs with plastic thingees and they slide in and out real easy now.
Now I can just see the above being taken out of context and used as someone's signature...

I can add another vote for the Shoei Raid 2 although I found the HJC fine as well. Only real problem is nothing seems to stop glasses fogging up when really cold apart from having visor partly open.
