Yamaha US has issued recalls on some of their cruiser range. . The company says the nuts and bolts that hold the passenger seat to the fender can work loose.

The models affected are:

V-Star Classic
V-Star Silverado
V-Star Custom
Virago 250

If you have a new one of the above bikes, then it might be worth having a word with your local Yamaha dealer. As I said, this is in the US, but could be worth checking out in case a different bracket is used due to local regulations.

Amazing, but not really surprising. A combination of most people either being unable or unwilling to do their own maintenance, and Americans being the most litigious people in the world, I guess.

I wonder why this simply couldn't be handled at the dealership. Surely its just a matter of replacing the nuts with nylocks...

Yeah, sort of thing you would check yourself anyway...

I suggest they recall all cruisers and melt them down and make super sport bikes, as they a waste of natural resource in the first place :ride: people should not be allowed to simply criuse through life :2thumbsup the reason the nuts and bolts come loose is because they vibrate so much :shifty: its an inherent problem which no amount of recalling can fix.

The XV250 pillion seat is a current recall with Yamaha NZ and Aus...... Not sure about the rest.
