Just got back on the road, i know its been cold. My visor keeps fogging up and have to ride with it open two clicks. Have cleaned it with all sorts of stuff and still no good. Does it have any thing to do with the ventilation in my helmet?. Does anyone have any info please.:innocent:

It's a real common problem, and affects lots of brands of helmet. The best solution is to go and buy a pinlock visor for your helmet.

I agree. Pinlock is the way to go. I have had mine for about 30,000km with almost no issues. This one time, I had to readjust it as the pin cams had turned.

A lot do. I've got a plastic film liner, which sticks onto the inside of the visor. Seems to do the job pretty well. Motomail have them for like $20.

What brand of helmet do you have, geestring?
Agree with the above posts.... the pinlocks work well. I have a Fog City stick-on photochromatic in my Shoei... it works well too

Does it have any thing to do with the ventilation in my helmet?Yup. My old helmet fogged like a bastard. New one (LS2) almost doesn't fog at all - much more space around the mouth/nose area.

Posted this in more detail a while ago:
Pinlock System - best - most expensive - most durable - removable. Significantly so all cases.
Fog City - next best - cost effective - lasts a season plus - permanent - and the glue is ugly.
Fog treatments - work well for a while - need regular re-application and fail if you don't. Cost varies.
Personally I have 3 Pinlocks.
Top shelf helmets only cost more than $1,500 because of the graphics and paint. Nada to do with ventilation or safety. :-P

Tryed to put up with it , the other night on the way home. had a near miss of my death. a car was coming onto the motor way and out the corner of my eye i saw sparks, thought for a second i was on police 10 seven, haha. the rim had come off. through the foggy helmet parts of the car flew across two lanes infront of me. all avided, this time. so thought i better do something about it.:shit:

If your going to get a new helmet then you can buy one with a pinlock visor built in. Also check out the SHARP safety rating of any new helmet you are looking to buy. Try and get something with a 4 or 5 star rating.

Sounds normal. I always ride with the visor open one click in wet cold weather. Don't see the problem.
