Helmut Dähne was a works rider for BMW and he has some ridiculous times for the older twins. Superquick times on bikes with fook all power.

The Ring is definitely a learned course. One guy briefly held a record on an R65 (all 50hp of it). Turns out he was a course riding instructor.

AFAIK the RC30 record is for the Nordschleife, still in use today (but not the remodelled F1 track). A great bike in its time, the unkitted Honda put out about 110 hp. Compared to a ZX10 or Gixxer, its pretty tame.
