Dynojet carb kit? DNA air filter?

Well I plan to have a look at a Honda VTR1000 some time this week and the bike has the following features added.

Rear Hugger, Oggy knobs, Hyperpro front spring kits,[ progressively wound springs ] Dynojet carb kit, DNA air filter and Scorpion Mufflers.

Now the knobs and mufflers are good but what sort of difference will these other mods make to the bike? Would the bike still be able to get a WOF or does the Dynojet thingy go through more fuel?

I don't know much about these mods this bike has so ask anyone here in the know what you think. Cheers.

All good and nothing to stop a WOF,only one more thing needed on that Honda and that would be a decent rear shock.Great bikes.

Whether it gets a WOF or not depends on how loud the mufflers are, and where you go to have it tested. The aftermarket airfilter, jet kit and mufflers just add a little more power, and shouldn't make it much more thirsty as VTR's are very fuel-thirsty anyway. They are also not very highly tuned, so the small amount of added power (probably less than 5 hp) is welcome. Not much power can be added via simple 'bolt-on mods'; to achieve significant gains you need BIG$$$ and aftermarket cams, higher compression, etc.

I would agree with 98tls other than his comment about the rear shock. It's ok as it is. If the bike is well cared for it would be a good buy. I've had VTR's for over 4 years & love them. Happy looking.

my vtr had them mods not the pipes, just gave them a bafflectomy... didn't notice any difference with fuel... WOF no problem and was a great bike...

Sorry mate, they're cool bikes, but he's right, the standard shock is rubbish. And if the forks have been upgraded as said, you can bet the rear will feel even worse in comparison.

Would insurance companies have a problem with thee mods? And would the rear shock be that much of a problem if the fronts are good? Always told the stock front forks were the weak point on the VTR's
