What a great winter for snow :cold:. Unfortunately this snow is falling onto ground that hasn't thawed from last night's -8 C frost, so the ground outside is slippery as hell.
Looks like the bike can have a holiday tonight and I'll have to take the 4wd to work.
Anyone planning on riding through Central Otago this weekend, take extreme care. :ride:

Take solace in the thought that where you are, in six months time even your fingernails will be sweating.:sweatdrop

I'm now at work, and yes, I came by 4wd cage. It is diaboloical out there, and I almost lost it twice in 4wd. There are cars going sideways all over the place. So this is one of the few times each winter that the bike stays home. (Actually about 6 times this year so far).

Jennie and I often look at TVNZ weather for Alexandra and say "minus 6 today, touch and go whether Malcolm will be riding". It was about 8 degrees at sunup in Coro today, nearly had to wear a jumper, hehe

Maybe you need a snowmobile as well as a bike...

Did a sneaky Coro loop yesterday. It was getting dark coming over the top of 25A and my cheapo thermometer said 7 degrees. I have never known it so cold there at that time of day. I felt it warm up as I got down to Kopu.

Well it got up to seven and a HALF degrees down here today so there!:bleh:
Few snow falls here today (Fairlie) but not enough to settle on the ground. But my mate in Twizel said there was close to 150mm around his place!!!:cold:
