While cleaning/fettling the KX 85, I noticed a missing linkage bolt (my fault..) called into Mr Motorcycles and got the usual excellent service, should have it couriered to my place in time for Wednesday ride at Woodhill, cool, so far so good....

This morning we went to Barrys Point to have a look at the bike shop “specials” sale and realised we had parked outside Spectrum Kawasaki, I thought I’d wonder in on the off chance they had the bolt in stock (as insurance..) Talk about go the extra mile for someone they didn’t know from a bar of soap and I’d told him I had already ordered it from “another shop” He had a good rummage around and when unsuccessful told me to come back Tuesday if the ordered one hadn’t turned up and he would take one off a new bike on the show room floor to keep Grace riding.

That’s what I call SERVICE............ :woohoo:

Its all bout keepin the customers happy some people are good at it. We get quite a few supprised looks on peoples faces when they call in cause they just failed a WOF some place for a brake light. Yah fit it send them on there way at no charge they kind look at yah funny. But the next time they need something or a WOF they come back cheap way to get bussiness dosnt allways work but as you have done the good word spreads.

Agreed.Good word doesn't spread quite as quickly as bad word but does get there eventually.

Parts arrived today from Mr Motorcycles (a day early...!)... YAY...

I must say I'm sitting here feeling pretty good, the support we get from 'our dealer' is bloody good and if they ever sell up and buy that South Pacific island to set up their own TT.., there is backup on the shore........

i went in similarly, just to pop in and grab a spark plug...and i thought the service was excellent, until i checked up, and found that i was given incorrect advise about NGK spark plugs and which was hotter or colder... i still think theyre friendly and go the extra mile, but my confidence in their knowledge is shattered. the numbers on the plug was discussed with 2 guys there, cant remember names, but one of them was in overalls and working on a bike at the time.

MR Motorcycles is still my favourite place to purchase.

unusual for spectrum to have made an error with a plug as greg and brent, the guys in the workshop are prety good both ride bikes and have worked on bikes for ages, greg owns a kx500 with a heap of xtra bits on it. and grant in the parts also rides and has had a fair bit to do with bikes over the years but hey these things happen.
ive never had a problem with spectrum at all, when my first husky had malfuntcion in the motor they rolled me out a new bike and sent me on my way and i used to get them to do all my honda work 2 and never to busy to help.

Would have to agree with you there 4 Stroke! I've been told by many people that Spectrum have the best mechanics in Auckland! I've always had great advice there and they've always gone the extra mile with my bikes!

Were you in there buying a new bike today, or will you leave it to the last minute tomorrow.... :innocent:

Spectrum boys have looked after my bikes for the past five years and kept my trusty old honda going like a dream - nothing is too much trouble. Unlike some of the "other" bike shops in the area... (need I say more!)

I gave greg a pink feather duster years ago, after he displayed neurotic cleaning behaviour with his yamaha... ask him about it when you're next in there!

I will have to give them a big thumbs up aswell. When ever I have ordered parts they have always rang to let me know when there in. Top friendly service.

Just as well that Clmintie got that bolt in the mail eh.. That was your new bike they were going to nick parts off. Nearly no ride Wednesday.

Yeah they're not a bad bunch I s'pose. I mean theres a boss who owns the joint on the tools getting his hands dirty cause he's too tight to employ more than one mechanic.
Then theres this bloke behind the counter who folks think is the boss because he has clean hands and all he talks about is how good a rider he used to be(freakin gerratric) and how good the rum is. Talking of which everytime I go in there's somebody dropping off presents in bottles, does that tell you something? A bunch of piss heads or....maybe, a bloody good shop.

Last of all theres this tall skinning chap who has the knick name big bird. He's the glue, the bloke who actuallly holds the wonky ship together.

Yeah, strange lot.....
