My ignitor unit has packed a sad and no longer wants to work.
I will try wreckers tomorrow, but does anyone know of any place that sells used ones? I'm guessing new will be a truckload, if they're even available new, so a good 2nd hand one will be sweet.

Cheers
Dirk

Victoria motorcycle wreckers will undoubtedly have one in Australia, check online to see if the thousand shares the same unit with the seven.

If you have no joy finding one, they are repairable. I fixed one on an FJ1200 because I couldn't find a replacement. Just diodes, resisters, and capacitors, soldered to a baord.

/All nonexup FZR ignitors will do the job. so will single pickup FZ750 ones but not the twin pickup ones from the early model. Use a FZR750 one if you can find one, they have a slightly more advanced ignition curve.... and rev a little better

Okay I've found a wrecker with a CDI for a FZR1000W.

How do I know if it's an EXUP or not?
Sorry about my limited FZR knowledge.

Cheers

Have located a wrecker with a
87 FZR 1000, same number on it- $250
87 FZR 750, wants $250 aswell

I will probably get the 750, over the 1000, like R1madness suggested.

ANyone think I shouldn't?

They run an identical wiring harness, and pulse generators, and the 750 unit should let it rev a bit better. There's no reason to think it would be detrimental.

The 1000W one will not work. Different loom. The 750 one will definitly let it rev a little harder (not higher just more acceleration). I spent several years racing these. Good motors. easy hp. Oh yea put the 750 gearbox in too. It just drops in on mods required instant 6 speed 1000
