View Full Version : BEARS 12th of July - borrow a bucket?

I was wondering if anyone would happen to have - or know of someone who has - a spare bucket that I could borrow for the BEARS meet on the 12th?
I've been thinking about getting into the buckets for a while, but am not really keen on buying one before I have a good idea that I am going to enjoy being on the track with a lot of other people in a competitive setting.
I hope someone might be able to help me out, with this.

Yeah, I suppose it would have been better to be out a bit earlier.
Still, if there's anyone who isn't racing and who's not too worried about lending out a race bike it would be awesome :)
We use to have a couple of club "hacks" kicking around, wonder what happened to them? Don't know if Kickaha is racing next week? He didnt do Rd2 so may have had his annual bucket outing, hehehe ..... Mind you riding that, may not encourage you to have another go. Tony Mac might have something too.

Yes, I heard something along those lines. Who should I get in contact with to find out more?

I seem to recall Kickaha leaving a race meeting, walking away in disgust after having borrowed some old banger that just wouldn't play along, at all.

Tony Mac? How could I get in touch with him?

At least I turned up for the first round Pussy
Unfortunately I have nothing you could use otherwise the offer would have already been made

That would have been the Ducati 750 at the Sound of Thunder

Hmmm, first round, oh yeah I was in hospital:doctor:, where were you for round 2 though?

He's selling an FXR at the moment, maybe ask for a test ride? ;)

That seems a bit too nice for the track I'm thinking. But now I know how I can get in touch with him. Cheers!

Ok, let's put it this way - I had hoped to pick up a bucket a bit cheaper than $1500-2000...

Well, considering that fact maybe it would make sense to look at something else than an FXR150 then...

Well depends how competitive u want to be without having to work on it... a std fxr150 is fairly competitive if u got good tires on it.

Well, nothing is going to be competitive hauling my heavy arse around...
Anyway, the idea was to try it out and see if I actually enjoy being on the track in a race setting. If I don't - then there's no reason to pursue the matter further... If I do, then I'll see what I can get away with after I've run it past the aquisitions department

I was lucky I got mine for under $1000 delivered from Aucks to Wgtn and it was registered and warranted. As much as I would prefer a "bit more power" at times the lil green tractor is an awesome and incredibly cheap 'Commuting Bucket Racer'!
Just a shame it's a diesel...

I'm sure you will be hooked. :niceone: You don't need to be at pointy end of the pack to have fun. I've only done a couple of meets myself, but it's great fun mid field trying to catch the person in front or finding the limits of your tyres etc.
Cheers

Maybe he was too busy looking out for the lost TISM member in the in-field. ;)

Either that, or the cold got into my joints...
I had a great day - lotta fun! Currently thinking hard about what to get, when to get it and how to juggle it with a schedule that is packed chocker until October.
