Laugh at gas station

Ok, went and filled up at a Mobil in Pukekohe on friday, and when I went in to pay, the girl behind the counter asked me "Do you want a car wash with that?" lol.

Does this happen often? Any other riders experienced this?
Should I have asked if I have to stay on the bike, or if I just park it up and walk out? :laugh:

And has anyone actually done this? And if so, what was the outcome?
Wet, obviously, waterproofs hold up? :bleh:

Now being serious, she was just being blonde, or just didnt register that I was on a bike and wearing bike gear, and so wouldnt want one.

Still found it quite funny anyway, and thought I would share it. :D

Mobil are running a promo at the moment, that they have to ask you if you want a carwash when you fill up. If they don't, you can request a free one. You were probably her 100th customer that day, and it just came out automatically!

I'm sure someone could have used the carwash voucher for you if you don't have a car. About 15 to 20 years ago it was the norm for Mobil to be giving free carwashes every time you bought more than $20 of petrol - used to be great value I thought. Never many freebies these days. Around here Shell for one are ripping out their carwashes.

didnt one of the guys on the tamaki brothers ride a few years ago hit the car wash after following a cattle truck? vaguely remember something on the telly... from their tv series maybe? this is going to at least 2003, so memory is more than a bit sketchy.

A few weeks ago, I called into my local Shell station....the only one on the forecourt and she asks "what pump"??..........I reply "I'm only here for the specials" :rolleyes::rolleyes:

I had this on my bandit, bored on my lunchbreak one day. Worked like a fucking charm, especially with a straw.
Went over a big bump one day, can stayed in the holster *had a single length 'hooked' into the lip of the can*, but the liquid did not succumb to such ingenuity. Sticky, all the fricken way home.

yea happens to me all the time at that gas station even when my car has just had a full detail,

i got told to hop off my bike when re-fueling at that pack n save by both the attendants, "its illegal" to sit on an refuel ??

Ive had someone fill my bike for me. Gas station in Pokeno always has the guy out filling peoples vehicles. Didnt really bother me.

It's their policy to ask. It's just another way of saying "Would you like fries with that?".

If they don't ask, you'll get a next car wash free.

We snuck my RG and a mates FXR into a car wash once.......water goes in all sorts of terrible places. The worst part was however that i had to stay soaking wet in the servo for about 30mins after as the RG had an electrical prob and wouldn't start.
