Now - who has a blue DR with a clear/white or yellow IMS tank on it, but would really prefer to have nice matching blue one instead & thus would be willing to sell me that one & get the blue one instead ... :shifty:

I kinda thought that the blue one won't really look all that good on my bright yellow scoot. What with the Kiwi to US rate as it is a shiney new one from the States is just that little bit too far out of reach right now ..

Yea - have thought of all the angles. The blue's just a tad too blue eh? Black, clear, white, the "normal" yellow or even the neon yellow would have done , but just not the blue ...

Just get a blue front fender and be done with it...I thought $400 was a bit steep for a second hand tank tho, when I landed one here a year or two ago they were under $400 to my door.
Alternatively, buy a 5 litre container and strap it on the back, that's what i'm having to resort to for the MMMM...bloody KTM fuel range!

Edit...just paint the thing any colour you want...

they a tad over 550 landed now btloi, so 400 although steep is prolly worth it - unless it's that pale blue! Did yours that you sold to Mornay have a blue tank, or was it black? Can't remember right now & haven't seen it for some time.

Thought about painting it & spoke to a p/beater mate - he reckons the polyprop is a total dog to paint & fuelproof - apparently fuel vapours from inside just makes the paint bubble off in short order ...

Mine was a blue tank....you're right about the painting thing, only really do-able if you use spray cans and just repaint on a 6 monthly basis. Still, limited choices available here so you may need to put up with a strange colour scheme to save some money.

I just bought a shiny new designa yello one in from the US but a mate bought it back for me, $419 landed.

Looked at the blue one as well but for $19 more she is brand new and the correct colour.

Yep - that's a good buy then! You got a good mate there that's prepared to bring a bulky item like that around for you - at least it doesn't weigh too much eh? The shipping's the bit that adds another USD 89 to the equation ... which takes new landed price halfway too 600 bucks :argh:

Going to Brissie week after next, so will see what I can get them from out of the Sandpit - probably not much less tho.

he has finally realised, perhaps ,that the new tank price of $500 dollars he was asking was too steep but even $400 is too risky(for moi) for a tank of unknown true condition with no factory warranty when/if something goes wrong.

even though a blue one is exactly what I want...

My thoughts too. If it was round the corner to have a look at - different story. Also rather leaning towards siphoning some of Supergirl's grocery money & getting a new one instead ...

Always easier to ask for forgiveness later than to ask for permission now
