Planning on a bit of a long one tomorrow if anyone else would like to join.

Leaving from the shore, along riverhead coatesville, up 16 to wellsford.
SH 1 to Dargaville turnoff, just south of Brynderwyns.
SH12 to Dargaville, follow on through Waipoua forest around to Kaikohe.
Turn right onto Mangakahia rd to Otaika (just south of whangarei).
5km down SH1 turn right at Oakleigh on to Mangapai rd, then left onto Paparoa rd back to SH12, then back to SH1, then back down SH16.

Any takers?

It's either that or up to fletchers bay at the top of coromandel via the Tapu-coroglen road, and the 309 road. So gravel involved with that one.

Cheers

Headed in the coro direction. Up the west coast to Tapu then over the Tapu-coroglen road. It's just about run out of gravel so it was a whole lot of wet dirt, pretty slippery! Then decided I wasn't going to have enough time to do the 309 back over to the west again so just followed the usual route up and around to coro town.

Boy did I buy the right bike :D The R1200GS is absolutely hilarious on a twisty bit of road. Thumbs up for the Metzeler Tourance EXP's, fantastically sticky.

Next time i'll make it up to fletchers bay!
