That game of i-spy for people with no life (or so Rumour has it)...

Rules are easy (copied from the Waikato thread)...

#1 - Find the tag and reproduce the photo (as best as possible). The first person to post a found tag gets to place the next tag. If you get a tag, but somebody else posts their picture first, you lose.

#2 - Take the tag to a new location, get the photo and post it here. Give a few hints so the next person can figure out where the tag is located. Try to place the tags in interesting locations, maybe a bit of history that can be found down some nice twisties. Note: You have 48 hours from claiming one tag, to post the next or the tag becomes available again for others.

#3 - Tag must be a) findable and b) may be placed on a dirt road if a street bike can make it. Maintained gravel is OK, but make sure to let folks know that gravel is required to get to your tag. We don't want to exclude those who don't like to get dirty.

#4 - File photos are NOT permitted. You gotta ride to play this game.

#5 - Your bike has to be in the TAG picture.

I was thinking within an hour or so of Tauranga but I guess any where BOP is good.

I guess I could use a photo taken in the same place for the Waikato tag, since according to the sign I'm parked in the Waikato (should have parked the other side of the post eh).

I figured I'd have a go at getting a BOP tago happening but if no one picks it up I'll just have to try and move the Waikato one towards the Eastern border.

It was an awesome ride yesterday! I'm glad the weather played nice... The forecast was atrocious and when I left home (about 2.30pm) the clouds were starting to roll in, so I went hell for leather (only got stopped by one :Police: , but he was just doing license checks:whistle:) and the heavens opened half an hour after I got home, along with the flashy stuff and loud booming noises... Glad I wasn't out in that!

I've got to do an East Cape trip some time... those roads are mean!

I have been asked for a clarification, so after sifting through some of the other Tag threads to see what they are doing, I have made an ammendment to rule 2 by adding:

Note: You have 48 hours from claiming one tag, to post the next or the tag becomes available again for others.

In most instances though, it appears that the photo's claiming the last tag and setting the new one are done in the same post

We have had 18 tags placed and collected.
Tag number 19 is placed somewhere within the region just waiting for someone to collect it.

About 2 km of gravel each way by my reckoning. Good view from up there, blowing a bit today mind you.

When I was placing them on the map I discovered an oops in our counting. I make this new tag #21

Road is sealed all the way out there, but they have had it dug up relaying pipes so there is some road works in progress. Well sign posted, but care required.
Go get it. ;)

Well today I went for a cruise with the Moll thru to Hobbiton for lunch. Was not a bad we lunch at a little cafe on the main drag. Then we pootled off along Tower Rd and then Manawaru road to Te Aroha. Man thos roads are long and straight, almost like the road people decided they were going to run a road in a straight line a fixed distance from the backbone of the Kaimais. This idea is reinforced a little by the couple of trig station markers right on the left hand side of the road.

Anyhow, stopped in Te Aroha, and I remembered that I owed all the BOP folk a tag. Most direct route to the Bay is Thompson's Track. Man, forget about sealing the road to North Cape, when are they going to seal this puppy? Those potholes are mean! Nearly bottomed out the boulevard, and got my whitewalls dirty.

Anyway just past the end of Thompsons track on the Katikati end is Browny's Brewery & Motorcycle Cafe. There's a thread on here about it somewhere. Stopped for a coke, and some happy snaps of a Tiger 100 and an RD 350 LC - that 2nd brings back memories :)

Nice spot, friendly folk, only a few bikes there when we were there.

Back off down the road again to $10 Tauranga, over the Kaimais, and home again.

I thought the idea was for people to get out riding and taking and posting pics. The BOP is a big rural place, not like people drive past the same things on the same streets every day.

Whoops! I didn't mean it to come accross quite so rudely, what I meant is:
I followed the Auckland Tagorama group for a while and it looked like a lot of fun and I'd have been keen to join in down here once I don't have a million assignments screaming for my attention but being told exactly where the tag is kinda sucks the fun out of it - in my opinion

The idea was to say where it is when you post the "got it" tag, Smifffy kinda jumped the gun with this one stating where it is when he posted the "Go get it" tag.

Edit: Heh if I weren't so honest I'd submit a photo I already have of my bike in the exact same position up at Browny's, but it was taken back in February right after I bought her

Hold down - Control Alt and Prt Scr all at the same time, then right click in even a word document if you want, and paste it, you should still be able to crop it etc there. Print screen is probably above your insert button, which is above your delete button(keyboard dependant). :hitcher:

I doubt I'll get 1 before mid-week next week, so if somebody else wants to get the existing tag and post up a new one over the weekend, then go for it.

Hard to believe this one moves so much slower than the Waikato one.

Yeah, it's a big area, and costs probably don't help either. Still there's no reason not to make the tag something readily identifiable, so anyone can play, rather than relying completely on local knowledge. Just about every other tag here has some kind of sign or business name that helps out. With such a slow game as it is, it seems pretty pointless to me to make a tag that requires people to cruise around searching if they don't know where to find it, especially with the costs as you mentioned.

haha far out. all i was doing was taking my bike out for possibly my last ride of the season. did a local round that i like, which is around lake Rotorua, around Mt Ngongotaha ( which led me passed the tag you are so upset about) and then up the mountain for a nice LOCAL ride. i make no apologies for choosing my tag, as i said, i thought about putting it ouitside my gate, but thats not really in the spirit of it is it? from that ride tho, i did realise that there was no need to put it on hold and in the shed for the winter so it was all worth it for me. now to find this tag and put it outside my gate. have a great day everyone, the sun is out and it looks like a choice day in the bay for a ride.

Someone else just put the tag outside my gate (well not quite, but it would take longer to gear up and ride there than walk there).
Second time it has been put there, but I'll let it go because the sign is new (I helped put it in a coupe of weeks ago).
