I joined up a while ago and have contributed a bit here and there but today I got my 6R and feel like a bit more of a real rider - so I thought I would do the formal intro

Got into motorbikes 6 months ago after my bf got into them again after a break - I hated riding pillion so thought I'd give riding a go.

I've been riding mountain bikes for a number of year and that had really helped with my balance and cornering.

I am so keen on my new found love that I already have my full licence bike ready and waiting a Cagiva Raptor - for me the perfect harmony between italian design and japanese engineering - my lucky bf gets to run it in.

I am hoping to find an approved advanced training course to reduce my restricted period to 3 months (yes I am old and can do that).

For those looking for tips on sitting their restricted - I have to say I thought I'd failed - I stalled the bike and couldn't hear the man taking the test very well - but a big thanks to him for seeing my potential :o One thing I have noticed on this site is that people seemed to stress about the u turn and for me that was the easy bit :D

Anyhoo - hello from me, thanks for all of the tips I have been able to read about during my first 6 months of riding.

Welcome to KB! Love your avatar too! Joanna Lumley is yummy indeed.

Well done on your 6R too, I think basically if you dont fall off or wobble about too much, and know the road rules you will pass your retricted test.

I dont know of any advanced rider skills courses down your way, no doubt someone down there will be along in a few to give you the information you need.

Enjoy your bike, the Scorpio is a brilliant little bike.

Welcome DJ, I'm pretty new to the site as well having hailed from Queensland. I too come from a mtb'g background as well as road racing so yep certainly does wonders for the cornering, tight u's and also general balance and confidence.
Sounds like you have a very nice bike, enjoy it and good luck with reducing the restriced.
