I'm confused as to the correct pressures..I run Battlax BT56, 120/70/17F and 180/55/17R. I have 42psi rear and 34psi front, but have been told by two seperate bike riders it is too high, and by another the pressures need to be higher...
After a spirited ride (the hill leading from Paraparaumu(ish) to the Haywards hill road), both tyres were scuffing up well, and the chicken strips were well and truly untouched...
So is this a sign the pressures are ok? I am 110kg if that is any use.
I do notice the bike wants to "fall" into corners, but feels very stable.
Any tips/advice? I'm after the best compromise between grip and trye life basically...
cheers!

If anything, your front tyre pressure is low. The rear seems about right. As a comparison I run 36PSI front and 40PSI rear on my RF900 which is probably a bit lighter than the ZZR1100.

You can find the Bridgestone OEM Fitment guides here (http://mc.bridgestone.co.jp/en/products/machine/index.html), but they don't seem to list recommended tyre pressures.

The Metzler (http://www.metzelermoto.co.uk/tyres/fitment_chart/fitment.action) and Dunlop (http://www.dunloptyres.co.uk/bikeDB/flash/index.html) fitment guides both recommend 2.90BAR / 42PSI front and rear for their tyres on a ZZR1100.

I'd try increasing the front tyre pressure 2PSI at a time and see what happens to the handling. Low pressures may cause the tyre to overheat and shorten its life.

Yea 36 F 38R don't forget these will gain approx 4psi when hot
So hot the Front would be 40psi & Back 42 psi which for a big bike like the ZZR would be about right >PS buy a digital tyre gauge so you can check them after using Airline <.

I usually do 41 F and R, seems to do the trick. If I could tell what +/- 2psi did to my handling I'd be getting a sportier bike.
