Hopefully getting my nylon up to a Kaitoke standard tonight for this Sunday. I would imagine the nylon will be getting used once or twice at least because it is GOING TO BE RAINING!! And it is going to be a BLOODY SOUTHERLY!!! For shits sake where is the sun?

Those skinny rims are a curse. Have to leave tyre in sun or a warm place & use soapy water in a squirt bottle. Take the valve out & fire in 60pounds with a decent compressor (BP often have a flat tyre function on the forecourt pump).
If using an inner tube loosen the valve & push it in a bit so the reinforced part of the tyre doesn't push the bead away.

Some info about the day from the Kart club, note the track direction:
Clubday is this Sunday 19 July. The track direction will be clockwise ( or the normal direction ). This weekends meeting is the Bill Picard Memorial Trophy. The trophy is an all in race of 25 laps at the end of clubday for all senior drivers. There is a trophy for the winner of this race. Duty class for the weekend is all senior drivers so please be there a bit earlier to help with setup and at the end of the day to help with tidy up.

And who would be interested in attending their next working bee?
WORKING BEE
Our next working bee is scheduled for Sunday26 July at the track. The working bees usually run from about 9.00am through to about 3.30pm. We really need your help with these days to keep our facilities up to date and we had a great turn out at the last one so lets do it again. Many hands make light work. The track is closed for any practice on working bee days. Below is a list of jobs that we need to do at this working bee.
Fit existing bang bags to new bags
Improve trench around septic tank to old toilet block
Clean walls in clubrooms
Trim grass from track edges
Replace faulty power sockets in kitchen
Repair extractor unit in kitchen
General tidy up prior to Upper Hutt Grand Prix
Tools required Petrol powered line trimmers
We also urgently need the help of an electrician, do you know someone who could help with the electrical work, if so please give Phil Davy a call on 021682057.

Just a little reminder about the Wellington Bucket Racer Social Group here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/group.php?groupid=106).
I realised that many points that were raised at a meeting that was had a while ago by some of us bucket people had not been added to the group so many of the newer bucketeers may not be aware of what is expected, especially at Kaitoke track. Take a look and feel free to comment or add any points that you think would be helpful. Cheers! :)

Funny you should say that. Skunk and I were discussing that yesterday. Figured that once the points rounds were finished (11/10), it will be a lot warmer and we will have a lot more freedom to pick and choose weekends up to xmas to have there (but not too close to Taupo, BOB etc).

Yeh sorry about that. You haven't had much luck on that front. Getting taken out minding your own business that is.
I had a very very scary moment on the back straight in the last all in race. As you all know the sun was low and you could not see shit until you hit the shadow at the end of the straight, as soon as soon as i came into the shadow there was someone on a bike pretty much stopped on the track. If I was one foot to the left both me and how ever that was might not be feeling well at all.

Nah mate no worries! I enjoyed passing some of the people back! It's all part of it. Plus I was stoked that on the way to hitting the ground I held the handlebars and pulled the clutch in. Meant I could get up and get going quick. I think I might be a more experienced crasher than a racer at this point!
