I have a Vespa GT200. I commute daily and need more room for all my stuff, so am looking at Top Boxes. Vespa supply them, colour coded, at an outrageous price af about $500. That is not the problem, though. The problem is that I need to fit a briefcase into the box complete with laptop. The Vespa Box is too small.

Looking around, I have found a Givi box that would work a treat. It is $300 and more than big enough. On TradeMe, I spotted another make for only $70 new. I think it is called a Cnee (or something like that).

Any advice on this? What should I be looking out for?

Cheers!

I have one of the medium sized Cnell boxes from trademe on the FA50. Good value for $70.
The finishing isn't as tidy comsetically as the Givi, but much cheaper, and big enough to take a laptop.

Tie an old wooden beer crate on behind.

Big enough you can just drop your briefcase & gear in and go.

Do people still use briefcases?

Old School! I have a lot of shit to lug around so short answer...yes...(maybe I should call it a laptop bag?)

Givi stuff is well built and interchangable between bikes. Also have a look at the Krauser stuff as I've heard it's superb. $hit luggage and top boxes as a waste of time IMHO. They've got to be sturdy, waterpoof, easy to get on/off and reasonably thieving bastard proof.

X 2 on both of those. Not so sure about the Krauser stuff (does anyone import that here?) but Givi is readily available and I'm sure they do a top box that will take a briefcase.

http://www.givi.co.uk/cases/ If you click on the models it gives you the dimensions, so it should just be a case (unintentional pun) of giving the relevant part # to your local dealer and getting one in.
