View Full Version : Urgent! Rescue Pooey.

Some lazy sack of shit in Wellywood has Pooey the adv bird locked in a bedroom, and is probably doing questionable things to him.
Last seen in a car no less:sick:
All wellington adv riders are therefore urgently called to locate the bird. Slap the kidnapper with a wet snapper several times, and take the little shit for a ride on their bike.
The rescue party needs to include the usual suspects, and the rescue needs to take place yesterday.
The world is watching, (and the Aussies are giggling)
Good luck,
This message will not self destruct, but will come back and haunt you over and over if the mission fails.
(Aslan, and Junkman are excluded from any future ridicule, as they actually had the balls to step up to the challenge):Punk:

He's already signed up to do the MMMMM, so he can't leave the country until after that. :whocares:
But the Welly folk should show him around. He needs to get out and about, if only for the health of his liver

Joe,
We should drag him out this weekend, presuming I've got a bike that works.
He stayed at my house one night, drank all my premix bourbon.

Probably...but I think the appeal is that it's pretty much what biking used to be (20-30 years ago) without being precious about the bikes. It is expected you will make an arse of yourself, the bike will fall over, bits will get knocked around a bit and you get to make up the most outrageous lies about how good you are / were.
It also means you get to explore any backroad you want, no traffic and (for me) places I haven't been in years.
I'm not sure about the GS tho, that really is pipe and slippers stuff...or have you been watching "The long way round"?

Hmmm, just as i suspected. Anyone want to swap a good RSV1000R for a R1200gs? or should i just trash the RSV?
What sort of kit is considered to be fashionable in adventure circles KTM 950/ 990?

Yep the 1200 is a big bulky machine, it could get away from you real quick on dodgy ground.
Do you have any off road experience?
If so go for it, if not maybe something built like a brick shithouse that bounces well without falling to pieces and isn't the size of the Exon Valdez to start with.
Woodmans KLR keeps going despite the abuse he's given it and even Paladin hasn't managed to kill a DR yet.

Im not entirely new to it. I have a YZ426, a BMW R100rs thats seen a lot of gravel (not ideal tho) & a 81 katana 1100 thats seen a few un sealed roads.
Its just that im over the RSV, so it would be the one to go.

I used to be a swinger on a bucket sidecar. Always wanted to give a full road race one a go. Swinging around Mt Wellington was hard work especially the day we ran the track in the reverse direction. My rider had a knack of squeezing our outfit through a space only big enough for the front tyre.... But this is off topic :o

You would be wrong there, the sixfiddy is an excellent size for ADV riding, big enough to haul on the open road & small enough to toss around in the more interesting parts of the country
