Nice ad, Mr Piratejafa, Sir! :niceone:
To date, the RD350 remains the only bike that I have ridden that I was shaking when I got off. The example I rode when I was 18 was - at the time - the fastest production RD in New Zealand. My mate thought it was funny to tell me that due to the oil injection pump being backed off, I had to keep the revs over 4000. Luckily I ignored him, but the thing still wheelied everywhere.
I'd love to test-ride this, but my wife'd probably lock me out of the house. In my house 1 bike is more'n enough; 7 would be "fuck off and don't come back!":eek5:

Shame you have to sell the beast.
I never did get to have a ride on it, or rather i never grew the balls to take it for a ride lol.

Having done the majority of the k's on this after Jafa took ownership i'd say it definitely lives up to the legacy. The powerband is simply insane, the sound awesome, the grin you're left with... priceless.

Should be valid for the pre-82 Post Classic class.
It already has the go-faster expansion chambers, top end and clutch springs in it - all it needs is someone with the balls/wallet/incentive to take it to the track!

Someone buy this bike and i will see you at The Post Classic GP ,Taupo Oct 31st

That was me... my `reward' after helping with cleaning the carbs and putting them back on...
Like viffermon, my hands were shaking. You can shove your GSXR1000s and Busas and even RZ350s (of which I rode GiJoe1313's (Betsy) back up SH22 yesterday)... that thing is far, far more frightening. It's uncontrollable --- no matter how careful and gentle you are, you cannot --- cannot --- keep the front wheel down once you cross the powerband in first or second gear. The revs shoot up, the noise gets louder, the handlebars start quivering from side to side and you feel like you're going to fall off the back. I really struggled. The RZ350 (or 250LC) is utterly tame in comparison. RZ350 may make same or more horsepower, but it's as gentle a beast as an inline-four 550. This... well.
I think if a really smart Japanese man thought really hard in the 1970s about designing the most effective and efficient device to kill a young man, he'd come up with something very closely approximating an RD350 with the wild spannies fitted to PirateJafa's.
That is a dangerous, scary bike. I want to buy it but I think it'll probably wipe me out.

I loved riding it to and from uni, intense as it was. Gets a wee bit scary if you sit it @ about 80kph though :Pokey:

lets just say the TLR would be the better bike for avoiding injury
I had a ride on her today after returning the kickstart - while it isn't the power itself that's the problem, it's the delivery and instability that makes it feel like a very Bad Idea - Especially for you wimpy road riders who go all soft at the thought of a little headshake :bleh:
If you've ever ridden a sidecar with suicide shift and no brakes and consequently crashed, you'll known what i mean by Bad Idea cause that was another one.

Dude I'd be able to hear you going across the bridge from my house
Seriously though, you seem like a nice guy, I'd recommend not buying this (or at least getting a will prepared first --- you can leave me the Daimler).

Seems that i may be shit out of luck anyways. As for the daimler you dont want it. Its a hole to pour money into.
I really want a old parallel twin stroker though. Really really want. I get a hard on hearing them. (not literally cause that would be wrong, oh so wrong):Pokey:

edit: Plus that dude can't get up to Auckland today - so it's going to the first person to front up with the green stuff.

May have the green on monday all going well. CFO has approved said purchase on condition of selling the daimler.
