Hiya Kiwi Bikers
I moved to Auckland late last year for work, unfortunately without my bike, I had to leave it in Australia. I tried to get it shipped but it was too expensive but I've since discovered the KB forum – not quite the same as riding but entertaining to say the least. I have this feeling I might be spending a bit of time at the computer which’ll make these loooooong winter nights fly by.

Anyway I’m off to watch the bucket racing this wkend if it’s not too wet at the Mt Welly track so if any of you are out there and see some sad, old bag wanderin’ around without a bike come say hi to me I’m always on for a chat.
Cheers

Welcome to the country and all that.
No bike is not the end of the world, at least you can get some respite on the web, and this busy little site is a great starting point.
And it is a really good time to buy if you do have some cash, middle of winter, recession and all.
Might be at the racing too, I will wave out to every old bag I see, brown paper or Gucchi, I'm not elitest.

Enjoy your stay.

Hi Dodgeygit
yeah this site is pretty cool although I could spend farrrrrr too long on here, have to watch out there.
Unfortunately I didn't get to go to the buckets, I had to work on Saturday so missed out and then tried to head out there on Sunday in the arvo and got totally lost! I'm still trying to find my way around Auckland I don't know that side of town very well. Anyway have to wait 'til bloody August now. So, did you go and how was it, do you race, did you win??

Cheers

Welcome Kaysz :wavey: When you head out to the buckets next month, if you get lost, just head up Mt. Welly to the lookout, and you will be able to see/hear the track and work out how to get there. That's what I did first time.

why didn't I think of that, I was really pissed off and sulked for the rest of the day but never mind the winter is almost over so it may even be milder come August. I'm still struggling with this Auckland weather though, I don't know how you guys ride in the winter, it's killin' me.
Thanks for the reply I'll be lookin' out for you MSKBC, I can't imagine there'll be too many chicks out there so I'll look out for your bike. I left all my riding mates in Brisvegas & my bikes unfortunately but thought at least if I head to the track I'll get a fix, even if it's just to talk shite and watch the racing.

Cheers

Why thank ya. I noticed you're from Rotorua, I love it down there. I've been mtb'g in the red woods a couple a times and it's wey cool, although I got lost the first time.
This site is gonna kill me, I stay up too late just laughin' at all the crazy crap flying around. It's very entertaining though.

There's fcuk all riding locally in dorkland lovey, you have to drive to find a trail i.e Woodhill or Riverhead.
