Second time its been listed, was surprised no-one showed more interest the first time round, not a single question asked. Nice looking project though.

Re the XL500 thing - Would be difficult to get on the road i assume. Push starting all the time would get a bit tiring.

Sweeeet, check out the engine bay shots.Pure two stroke porn at its best.
Price on request tho...if ya have to ask then you can't afford.

I remember when Richard Scott turned up at the Cemetery Circuit on one of these and proceeded to smash the circuit record.

Check out the ex Christian Sarron YZR in the same site.If only eh?

We all know this is a CB250RS with a 500cc single cylinder FOUR STROKE engine in it, right? just checking.

I saw it come up first time round. Potential for cheap fun for someone.

I would paint that in Spencers 1983 livery, with his number, and park it in our reception in a glass case, and only start it up and ride it round at our Christmas party.

That is a cool website.

Just pity they seem to double the price the owners want for the bikes....granted there is some pretty cool kit listed, but the "agents" must have tacked on a pretty big margin on top of what some of the stuff usually sells for.

http://www.classic-motorbikes.com/stock.asp?Ref=FA73&Lang=en like this is actually worth in the UK 6-7k pounds. (ie 16-18 kiwi) they want 14,000 euro (31,000 kiwi!!)
http://www.classic-motorbikes.com/stock.asp?Ref=FA87&Lang=en they want 36,000 euro which is 81,000 kiwi. A mate sold his later model TZ750D (77) for 20,000 sterling a few months back - $52,000. Which was good money in the current environment. It was ready to race too...

Good for perving though.....

It needs an old school super trapp muffler on it so you can wake the dead with it, Looks to be an old XL 500 S motor, if memory servs me right, same as the XR 500 A motor, they had a bit more balls than the XR pro link motor.
Me thinks a great toy.

neeeds better brakes, wheels and suspension, surely?suspension will be ok.. theres no point taking that over 120k - it's just to blast around on and scare everyone. Brakes nearly not needed - just change down.. hehe.

That would be a great cafe racer starting point.
