Absolute cocksnorters. Last week my Fiancee went in to buy some tickets for the Film Festival. She had all the movies and times written out on a bit of paper, and handed them over the kiosk to the staff there. The staff member asked for her details which were spelt out letter by letter as the Ticketek staff member wasn't particularly fluent in English. When the tickets and recepit were spat out, our address was incorrect, and her name was spelt out in such a way it could have been deemed offensive (At least it was to her).

She heads home, and when I get home, we look at the tickets, and they've given us the wrong session times for one of them. It directly clashed with one of the other ones she bought."No Biggie" I thought, just head back in, tell them they've printed the wrong tickets, and get them to swap them to a correct session time. No such luck. When she went back in, she asked for them to be swapped, when she was told, by the same staff member, that it was her fault because she didn't give her the correct times, even though she handed them over on a clearly written piece of paper. After asking for a simple exchange, she was told that she would need to send an e-mail to Ticketek, and they could get back to us in a week or so.

No such luck cunt-rags. The movie was showing well before then. She ended up buying another set of tickets for the right movie, and walking out in disgust. When I got home, she told me what happens. I dropped my trousers, whipped off my undies, put my pants back on, and hiked up my gruts. Time to attack this Gubb-style. I was appalled that they essentially told her to shove off over a $30 difference that was due to their own staff members laziness and inability to read.

I walked into the kiosk office with the tickets, and receipts in hand today, explained the situation, and asked for them to refund the $30 as we could no longer exchange because we couldn't wait for the reply of Ticketek to pull their finger out of their arse. They told me I would need to send Ticketek an e-mail explaining the situation, essentially beg for a Refund, for their fuck-up, and come into again, at my own expense (bear in mind, this was already the second uneccessary trip into town to sort their shit out), and hope they call me back soon. No fuckin' chance I was swallowing that horseshit. I asked to speak to their supervisor, the thick-twat that was encompassing the desk spurted out between her jowels that it wouldn't happen, and I would need to send an e-mail.

I started to make a scene (I have awesome tantrums), and she eventually told me where their support office is, just around the corner. Why fuck around sending an e-mail when I can walk 100m and sort it out in person I thought, before I realised that the only reason she wouyld have walked 100m is for another deep-fried Mars bar salad.

Explained the same situation to the guy at the next counter. He sounded apologetic, said that if I wanted to write a message he would pass it on to the people upstairs. I asked if they could come down and talk to me, no chance apparently. I started getting angry again, and after explaining the situation for the 4th time, he phoned upstairs again, and someone came down.

Same story, explain their fuckups, explain how it's their fault, and ask for my measley $30 back. "Oh, we can't do that, you'll need to put a request in writing". Fuck that. Her Supervisor comes down, swipes his eftpos card, and bam! in it goes into my account.

3 Visits to Ticketek. 45 minutes of my time fighting the arrogant fuck-holes about their own mistakes which they tried to pawn off on my Fiancee. I haven't been this fucked off since the Vodafone incident (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=92279&highlight=vodafone).

After that, I went and spent $24 of the $30 on a dozen. Victory never tasted so good.

So in esence dont take no for an answer and make a fuss till they cave in?

Tis funny you know, when I try that people laugh at me, it just makes me more determined and maybe a little tiny bit more pissed off :innocent:

Well done, scoring a victory for the little bloke...well the big bloke on behalf of the little bloke, umm cute and very gorgeous tiny little fiance...shit it is late, I have had to really think that one out!

Good shit!

PS: I have pics of wank stain, complete with tissues if you want to illustrate your post, took the pics in Welly last year when we were staying in a hotel there, apparently the housekeeping staff do their jobs well *cough*bullshit*cough*

It is fairly disgusting.

I have a simple response to that one.

Download the movies. Burn them to DVD. Buy a nice bottle of Champagne and some truffles (still cheaper than paying Ticketek for anything) and watch them in your own living room.

You see, the "industry" bitches about downloaders "stealing" from them, but are quite happy to let every part of the distribution chain treat their customers like criminals, as well as charging them an outrageous sum of money for "adding value" to the process.

They don't call us "patrons" for nothing.

Hmmm...I tried something similar (not with Ticketek though) and it ended with first security and then the Police (God bless their little cotton socks) dragging me through a crowded shopping centre, into a waiting van and then a nice little trip into the cells.

Perhaps I should have thrown a bigger tantrum.

But it's a movie about Nazi Zombies!

This and "Che" are two that I want to see on the big screen. But I suspect Torrents will certainly get a workout once we find somewhere to live.

Seriously. Nazi Zombies (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1278340/).

I have been most unimpressed with their service (or lack thereof) in the past.

I can see why people are choosing to invest in their own home theatre and why DVD shops are now having to do $1 mondays and tuesdays.

DVD and music shops won't exist in 10 years time and the large movie chains will go down the toilet too (and they deserve it). I mean they charge you $14 now to see a movie and wonder why patronage is decreasing. I started smuggling in my own treats years ago, but the high ticket prices are the last straw.

I won't go to the cinema again (at least not to a Readings or Hoyts). I'll support the little guy (if there are any) but the big bastards are going down and they know it.

I agree 110%. That's what makes me even angrier. This is the Film Festival for chrissakes. It sucks that some cock-rodeo clowns decided that Ticketek was the only way of buying Tickets to see this stuff. It's the Independant theaters. The little guys, the ones you want to help out, but with Wankers like Ticketek the only to deal with them, I won't be bothering in the future.

If you want, mail me up a USB stick and I can send it back down with Dead Snow on it - and any other "linux .isos" you might want. ;)

The squeaky wheel gets the oil, which is pretty unfair IMO but it's normally the way it is.

I suspect that most big business put forward the pretense of 'the customer is always right' but their underlying message is 'if the customer accepts your 1st refusal then don't help them any further'.

They are indeed wankers.

Remember, $5 an hour don't buy a whole heap of smarts.

whn i brought my guns and roses (i think) tickets off them the sytem was going slow and i ended up buying them twice. once i realised what i had done i rang up to cancel one lot - nice ans simple i thought. but no since i used my mothers credit card on my ticketek ac they wanted to get me charged for fraud

after a few more phonecalls i got the refund and a lecture about fraud and crdit card laws

do they charge they $6 booking fee for the movie tickets? i hate paying $25 for a band that has come from overseas and making no profit then have to pay $6 to ticketek to buy a damn ticket. glad there is more competition for them now with the other outlets
