Hi there folks....been a lurker here for a very long time.....seen some really neat stuff....like the recent thread with bikers helping out a fellow biker at the request of his wife....that was simply awesome guys!

Had bikes since I was a youn'un on the farm. Married life seemed to develop a permanently fixed 'centre stand' to my riding and my bikes. Been wanting to get back on a bike for at least the last five years, since I had a son...you know...show him the 'right stuff'.

All the browsing on tradme...lurking here and other related forums finally resulted in a 'test ride' which ended in a huge clean out in the garage to house the new (well very second hand) toy. I am very pleased with it, even if I ride a dreaded Beemer.

Anyone have any info on topboxes? Always hated the look....but from a practial POV I really need one now. Saw a very elcheapo on trade me

Its the right price for me right now...but as they say..you get what you pay for.

Thanks

yep...like most forums.
Love the profile pic of your bike and the Mount. I hailed from up that way...in fact that was when I had my last bike....back in the early 90's.

Congrats on getting back on that horse.

An interesting time of the year to start back :)

But if the price is right!

Your R1100GS is a good choice to find your biker roadwheels again.

Take it easy.

Welcome to the nuthouse. At least you are riding in the friendliest part of the country with more rallys each year than any other region. Good to see you're interested in the Southern Escapade ride. You'll find plenty of others doing it at a gentle to moderate pace rather than blasting around in a single day. Enjoy. :ride:

Thanks Jantar.
I moved away at the end of the 90's but have been back her since '04. Surprised at the increase in traffic here since being away!
Yes...the Southern Escapade ride sounds like a good way to enjoy my bike and meeting others I hope.
cheers
;)
