Not familiar with this particular model Whistler, but other models I've seen that friends have had are not the best on Ka band, so proceed with care.
Is this model actually available in NZ, I've only ever seen them advertised in the US?
At the minimum it should at least give you some protection from the new speed camera's as they are X band.

I have one on my bike, it appears to work..saved me from :Police: a few times. Can't compare it tho, as I've not used any others..

Have you got both front and rear set-up? it seems there is a few combinations to set this unit up. if the main radar-antena is mounted correctly do you bother about the radar facing one? or mount the main one behind your fairing and use the smaller sensor facing fwd?
hows yours?

On my last bike, had both set up, main box sensor was facing forward with small one facing back behind the seat.
Main one was set underneath the front fairing with unrestricted view forward, if, however, as on the 999 there is nowhere to put it except behind the fairing, then you have to set the small sensor to face forward instead.
Still works ok tho..
just no pick-up of radar from behind you :)

You got a radar for your bike? Starting up a freelance speeding enforcement on the side then? :D

I have had one for about 3 years now. Seems to work ok on all the bands but cant compare to any others. I think they have a reasonable rating on reviews.
Have saved me from silly speed tickets (111km type) a number of times when the cop is parked up or pulsing vehicles way down the road.
The LED indicator is visible in all lights. I have mounted the antennae under the headlight.
Rear sensor is laser only. Handy temperature sensor and battery voltage displayed.

Rear sensor is laser only.
So did you mount the rear sensor off your number plate? or at all?
What i'm meaning is 99% of all bacon-radar would be coming from the front no?

There's a review here: http://www.radardetector.net/forums/77328-post9.html by a U.S user who wasn't very happy with it to to "falsing". Haven't seen any formal tests.

you could make the panels on your bike like a stealth bomber so the radar wont pick you up!

I guess that most will be ahead of you. Don't have it fitted on the R1150 as the cable routing was going to be an arse and TBH if lasered you are screwed anyway :-)
On the K75 I had the rear sensor mounted on the bottom of the topbox and never picked up a laser from the rear. All from the front, laser and Ka.
