What are your favourite adverts that come on the telly at the mo?
I love the "Know who you are" advert of Steinlager with "Deliver me" playing in the back ground. I don't think too much of the beer but that advert is cool as.

Would have to be the ones they play late at night. Start out showin some green field and then as you get used to that and relax a little bit some freaky little monster quikly flicks onto the screen screaming at the top of it's lungs. Then text apears askin if you have ever felt more awake. Can't remember what the ad was for though, I would guess it's some kind of energy drink.

Hmm, I seem to be hi-jacking this thread so in order to avoid some unnecesary flamming lets see what other ads I can think of that are pretty cool...
Oh yea the M&M ones from a few years ago not sure if you peaple got them down here but one of them was Yellow saw this hot human chick and walked over and started flirting and stuff then she licks his shell and you hear this loud crunch. Next scene is Yellow talking to Red with a big bite takin out of his head sayin somethin like "love hurts" or some other les cheesy line.

You poor, poor dear!
I feel like that every day, about 3 minutes after I arrive at my cubicle.
Tell you what - hows about we swap jobs? This is the most boring job I've ever had, and I've been stuck here for nigh on six (6!!!) fookin years! Mind you, the first few munce weren't so bad - lots of travel (even if it was only to Perth) and they stuffed up my travel allowance so I was paid $AU70 a day that I was supposed to be paying for food and stuff with.
But only for about 16 weeks ...
Well I didn't bloody well know! It came in handy for buying a new helmet, gloves, and some trinkets to appease the missus...
And I reckon it made up for having to put up with Perth (it's like Hamilton, only full of Aussies and much hotter).

Saw a hot new (to me) ad just last night on TV2.
Young guy, doing everyday things, that all had equal "sexy" reactions to the good looking women around him.

Would love to get a ripped version, if anyone does quite a bit of tv capturing and can grab it for me.

I have to agree, that Steinlager advert is fricken powerfull! And, there are NO racial overtones WT, if they used two white guys they would be leaving out black people, same with two black guys (leaving out white people). Poor advertisers can never bloody win can they?
But for another great add, anyone seen the new Meridian Energy (I THINK, otherwise another power company) ad campaigns? One is about wind, and the other water (only seen at the cinema by me so far). The wind advert on tv has a seed floating over all sorts of NZ landscapes, and at the end they say something like: we hope you enjoyed a tour of your power station
Water add, similar but with a flower floating on water flowing over many different areas. A really beautiful add, musically and visually...
1)Steinlager
2)Meridian Energy (I think)

My absolute fave of all time was a mid 80's one for Trumpet ice creams where this slightly chubby bloke was trying to impress some blonde bimbo (her name was Fay or Kay I think) and his suave rival (Roger the bully) kept stealing his ice cream and the girl. had a very cutesy ditty to go along with it which I'll try to transcribe below (but everyone knows my memory is fading). I detest adverts, I record alot of the tv I watch, and fast forward the adshits... The point maybe a bit far fetched but it is there. Not everyone thinks the same so not every message will get across to everyone. Like SC said, that add was pretty powerfull so who ever got the message from that add would have been taken by the brand (which is the whole idea behind advertising).
I must agree though, it was mainly the song that did it for me.

Then leaps out of her chair and starts rapping something along the lines of
"YO, YO, check it, check it
I'm a bad grand-Ma, Busting moves
That'l Stop YA!!!"
as she says "stop ya" she pulls her jacket off from around her chest, and shows her grand-son (not us) her titties.
The young'n then quickly grabs a blanket and covers her up.....

A class add, and I hate adds. But respect where it's due (apart from the Harley).
I saw a documentary on TV about it some time ago. If it's genuine, and the TV prog said it was – showing the design, production and filming of it and the hundreds of attempts it took (making adjustments etc) - then it has at least to be the most ingenious adverts of all time.
Bloody adverts.

Yeah, took them something like 250 shots to get it all because it had to be filmed in one continuous roll.
Love adverts meself, but then I've been in the industry ever since I left school, well, after a brief stint at a music magazine which paid shite money. Decided that any place of employment which provided its own in-house pub had to be a bloody good thing (and most ad agencies in London do have their very own bars :-) )...
