All I can say is that I think the Taser is a great tool to have but I'm not looking forward to the first few months that they are introduced here. (tomfoolery is inevitable)

I've seen a guy getting nailed by one of those, it has to hurt like hell.

When are they going to introduce them here?

Ah come on Spud, everybody loves to play with a new toy. I can bet you guys (and gals) in the police force here can come up with more creative ways to tag each other right? Just do us a favor and get it on tape so we can laugh.:killingme

They have been trialled in NZ but thats all as far as I know. I'm not aware of plans to introduce them any time soon, would be a good tool to have though.

Don't 'play' with these things...

Remember that just as "lethal" weapons are not always lethal. Non lethal weapons are not always non lethal. You can, under certain circumstance kill people with these things.

As a tech, we were always doing dumb shit with eletrical devices (like building booby traps with giant capacitors, hooking magnetos up to doors etc etc) and I've seen people needing CPR after a brush (har har) with an old car magneto... Funny as until the victim is laying on the floor not moving...

Oh the letters that had to be written explaining THAT little 'accident'....

There pretty easy to jimmy up too, the old tasers. I had the skematics to make one, the hard bit is making the bits that shoot out not kill people :) Yeah with anything elec-tri-kal (sp :P ) it can cause heart murmers (sp), 18 people a year die from testing a 9 volt battery on there tounge. Or somthing

Technically it is a "food additive" - tho' I think you'd have a job convincing a jury you had a legit cause to be carrying it in "convenient spray form" after dark...

"But I also had a spray canister of tomato sauce in my other pocket and salt and pepper shakers in my jacket, it's just the way I am..."
