Just had a week in Samoa. 26 degrees plus, Vailima lager @ $2.00. Biggest decision was whether to have a swim before or after lunch, aahh paradise. We even rented a 250 trailie for a day. There is no way you could wear riding gear here. You'd die of heat stroke in 5 minutes. I hate to admit it, but it was shirt, shorts and sandals. Helmet too though. Even then we were cooking. No protective gear certainly focusses the mind on hazards though. Samoans seem to have some kind of 6th sense when they overtake, because they certainly can't see what's around the next blind corner, it all works for them though, and there's NO cops.

Raro is like that :D
I remember riding my hire scooter to the police stn to get my raro d/l. While we were waiting for our turn to get a photo done, a woman trashed her scooter during the test itself... the cop told her to do it again (ride up straight rd and come back) until she got it right lol.
She got it in the end, but had to pay something like $500 to have the scooter fixed :o
It's surprising you had helmets - I never even saw one

The road is really good, well surfaced, 2 lanes, good mix of sweepers with the odd tight one thrown in to keep you awake.
A round the island race would be a hoot, if it wasn't for the pigs (real ones), dogs and kids. Helmets and seat belts are about the only thing the cops ping you for. You don't argue with them either, they're all like Tuaman, only taller.

lol that would make a race interesting - not that I don't think Rossi and company couldn't handle it, but imagining them trying to race MotoGP with dog shit and chickens on the track is hilarious :D
Still, didn't that happen on Phillip Island in 2001? While testing Biaggi hit a seagull, and later had to take evasive action to avoid a hare that ran onto the track?
Corser hit a bird there too didn't he?

Blasphemy - say 150 Murray Walker Quotes and wash your mouth out - the only thing Rossi can't handle is yellow flags

lol a thousand apologies - he'd no doubt use the dog shit to help steer the bike :niceone:
Still - There could be a race that incorporates those hazards... maybe they could call it "The Isle of Bali" or something :D

The Isle of Manu (Samoa), or Coco GP.

maybe they should give the others a 10 sec handicap for each race :) evn schumacher couldn't make that time up. (don't see him hanging his ferrari out on high speed full power corners much either.....)
