They've been talking about this concert on the rock the last few days.

$160 blanket price apparently, not too bad considering every man and his dog is going to want a ticket!

Old man rekens the concert he went to in Sydney 50 billion years ago was the best performance he's ever seen!

If I was born sooner I'd prefered to have seen Bon Scott live.

But alas, I made it to two, 1990 and 96, and they were AWESOME!!!!

$160 is getting up there!!!!

I'd go if I'd never seen them before.

I thought the Razors edge show was pretty good, The Ballbreaker show was much the same with a few weaker songs and bad vocals. Neither would rank alongside the best concerts I have been to.

The concerts in support of Powarage would have been the shows to see, around 78.

I went to their Mt smart concert (circa 1990??) it was good but I honestly enjoyed shihad as their opening act as much as ACDC.
$160? Nah not worth it.

I think most big band concerts are expensive these days!

That Dark side of the moon David Gilmour show a couple of years ago was what? 300 and something?

EDIT: Sorry my bad, that was the Roger Waters version!!!

Yep I'll be there, this will be the third time and prob the last eh! lucky enough to see them with Bon Scott the first time, then the Back in Black tour with Brian Johnson, I think this may be the last time they tour so yes even for $160 I'll be there.

Genestho
21st July 2009, 21:53
That's what I was thinking too...could be the last time they tour.

I heard an interview the other day with Angus, saying the schoolboy persona wipes him out after each show, he wants to hide under a rock. (As you can imagine!!)

He must be 50ish now? You are a lucky bugger K.G!!

James Deuce
21st July 2009, 22:34
I'd rather see Airbourne. At least if you have to pay $1 per birthday for the lead singer it doesn't add up to $160.

You guys have heard Black Ice right?

It sucks. Two songs sound like ACDC. The rest sound like a really bad tribute band.

Headbanger
21st July 2009, 22:43
Black Ice is a great album....for a band in their twilight years.

Certainly far far far better then Ballbreaker, Blow up your video and Stiff upper lip.

Whats the capacitiy of Western Springs?

I've been to numerous concerts there - the biggest that I recall was for a Paul McCartney concert in the early '90's, which had 66,000 people.

Zimsar10
22nd July 2009, 10:21
I'm curious - for the people that think it's too expensive to go & see one of the biggest Rock bands in the World.......can I ask - do you smoke cigarettes &/or drink alcohol?

Because if you do - you could just stop doing both for a week of two (that depends how much you smoke/drink) & there you have it - a concert ticket!

Yeah Weston Springs holds 60+ thousand. I think The Rolling Stones had that many too.

Is the $160 just going to be general admission then? That will be one hell of a mosh pit!!!

Yip - $159.90 is the cost for all tickets - however, I think the first few thousand people will get into a cordoned off area - for crowd control purposes, like they appear to be doing at the Wellington concert:

Hmm, a sea of black jumpers and mullets as far as the eye can see.....

Where is an Acca Dacca fan going to get $160 from?? They might have to sell one of their HQ Holdens to finance the ticket.

Just remember the lyrics - "nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah - Thunder!!!" Man, that's deep.

Right, that should do it.

(Spank, can we have a "stirring" or "winding up" smilie please? Thanks.)

I have this concert on VHS, I watched it once and put it away in disgust. Very similar effort to the performance they done on the NZ leg of the tour.

Funny enough he sounds far better on the stiff upper lip concerts.

The 'Sharpies' used to come in from Fairfield and Cabramatta. Croats who 'vant to know you'. They wore cowboy boots with pointy toes and carried razor blades and bad mullets and all they wanted was to act tough and fight. Hangin on a corner near the dance.

Me and the other locals used to just go to the dance, walk on by - to some abuse - but we were off to see Hush, AC/DC, Sports, JoJo Zep, Russel Morris, Sherbet (for the babes), Mondo Rock, man they all played Hurstville - every Saturday night.

Every now and then a convoy of Blue singletted and flannelet 'Normies' would come in from Campbelltown and accommodate the Sharps and pitched battles were fought in the car park of the White Horse Hotel.

I learned some of my best insults by watching.
This happened pretty regularly.

30 years later it's 'Cronulla riots'.

Got a wonderful phone call off a mate called Harry in Qtown, who promised to get some ACDC Tickets, and the good top bloke dude, rang me this arvo and said Jan, I got yer two tickets:clap:Well done Harry.

Plan is to save like mad when I get back to the UK, and get a cheap ticket back to NZ for the Concert and take in the Hokitika Rally on the Friday Night, and catch the ferry on the Saturday morning, for the gig on Saturday night and already lined up IDB and told him to bump start his bike and tell it that Woodybee's backside will be placed upon it for the mini tour up to Wellington.

Shall hit the piss after the concert and party on Big time in Wellington it is such a top place to hang out in I loved the city when I first came over here, ,

Had the pleasure of attending the Rock to Wellington gig there last year and had a ball..................

After the concert cruise down back to Qtown catch up with loads of mates and do the Vincent Country Rally, the following week and keep on partying till the flight home a few days after the rally.

Its so worth it to get to se ACDC, as grew up banging my head lightly to ACDC, and alwyas sported a huge grin when I saw them do concerts on the TV, to see such a huge class act like this will be the best experience ever.

So Woodbee is coming back to say Gday in January and first bit of August, and if work:Police: wont give me the time, off can feel a bad back coming up:yes:

He/she has been trying to sell wellington concert tickets for get this...........$700 a pop. I questioned all of his auctions about his morality, me and about 30 odd others.
He/she obviously has had enough so started on at me on one of my auctions fukin arse.

Mesage is obviously getting through to the scalping asshole because he has dropped the $700 buy now and is just sticking with the $250 no reserve price.

Got me two tickets to the General Field area of Western Springs - I hope to get close to the massive cat walk!

Can't wait - last saw these guys during the 1991 Razor's Edge - World Tour on November 16, at Mount Smart. :Punk:

What an idiot, wouldn't have laid into your auction if he/she wasn't feeling guilty.

May get that money on the day but no better than ticket touts taking the pxxxs outside the venue.

Will be keeping the saturday ones for sure, may sell thursday but I had such fun last time I am tempted to go Thursday to warm up and Saturday to really let rip:wari:

Only got the one date up here in Auckland (at the moment) otherwise I'd be going to both too.

The Trade me guy got a real sad on and reported me for giving him a hard time......wanker.
