From mxdaily.com.au:
Brooke, Monz, Mum and myself just returned from the Hospital Gregorio Maranon here in Madrid, which before i even start this update i will say that the Hospital and Hospital staff have been fantastic and Cam is in the best hands possible.
Cam has made some massive improvements over the last 24 hours, although he is not out of the woods yet and is still in intensive care he has came leaps and bounds since yesterday. I suppose the best result from today is that the bleeding on the brain is very minor and is not the cause for the lack of movement on his right side. We think he his finding it tough to move the right side of his body to landing on that side. He has a fractures of the Right Shoulder Blade, Right Cheek bone, and Right Shoulder Cup. These injuries can be fixed relatively easily so we are just glad that the problem we though we had yesterday is confirmed not to be a problem.
The second bit of news we got today is that the repaired Liver is functioning and working as good as it can.
When we walked into ICU tonight his eyes lit up again, although he is still heavily sedated he knew we were there and was happy about it. We read him a few comments that people had left and you could tell he was trying to have a laugh, especially from the comments from Mase, OX and good friend Boka. I taking a small Australian Flag and put Sincs stickers on it, i told him to open his eyes and check it out, he did and gave us a nod, i asked him if he wanted me to stick it to his bed and he nodded again and opened his eyes once more.
The coolest thing about seeing Cam was just before we left him and here is where i'll hand it over to his fiance Brooke. "It was the best! As i was leaving i said "i'll give u a million kisses, he nodded yes". As i took a step away he opened his eyes so i blew him a kiss, he put his lips together and blew one back."
We have had a lot of requests from friends and fans wanting to send things to Cam at the hospital. This is fantastic and i'm sure it will bring a big smile to his face, but we ask if you could please direct them to Hotel as he is still in ICU. The address is:
Hotel NH Parque Avenidas
Birarritz, 2
28028 Madrid, Espana
The support we've had during the past has been unbelievable. We cannot thank RedBull Spain enough for everything they continue you to do. Toby, Brian and everyone else at Metal Mulisha for all their support and making sure we have everthing we need. Everyone at FOX (Monza Imports) for their support and calming words. The fans for leaving Cam messages on this site, reading these to him has made him realize how much support is out there for him, Docter G back in LA for helping us understand exactly what's going on with Cam and his situation. Maddo and Amy for everything they did and have offered and to all our friends and family.
We get to see him again tomorrow at midday and 7pm (Madrid) so will try my hardest to do another update in 24 hours.
Mick

Yeah i bet that's what people said before single back flips were a regular trick too...:blank: Their job is to go big and gnarlier every time. I hate to think where the sport is heading in the future :baby:

a big whip smashes any flip combo any day! more into spinning tricks than flipping tricks.

I agree that whips are cooler but you get what i was saying right? Tricks have and will get gnarlier every year so what's crazy and a stunt this year may be the norm in two years time.

Saw this horrendous slam on TV. I couldn't decide if he was gutsy for committing/staying with the bike or if he froze at the shock of realising that he wasn't going to make it.
I have to wonder where this 'sport' is heading as well. I definitely admire the mad gutsy skill but it's maybe a bit too freak show circus for me, and doesn't have that much to do with real dirt biking. (I do love a good whip though, it's a beautiful thing)
Nearly 100 years ago (showing my age?) the freak show was dudes on the hottest machines of the day racing around cambered wooden board tracks with no brakes. I think that era came to end after a string of fatalities. With these mad buggers pushing the limits so high up in the air, I can't help but wonder if FMX might eventually go the same way.

I love watching FMX (live is best...) but I can't help remembering an old saying from my road racing days..
"You get old riders and you get bold riders, but you don't get many old, bold riders......"
There's a good reason why it's called the "circus"

Agreed!! Bigger the risks bigger the results/injuries!
But its the older riders commenting here where's these young fellas saying we've lost our balls!
You gotta admit a few years ago most of us could say, with practice and dedication, we could probably achieve sorta what we saw in TV or at least compete at the rear end of the field. MX racing, enduro, Ironman, edburg etc. But I'd guess ther'd be a lot saying Bugger that, about FMX. Either fear or simply never achievable by them even if they worked on their skills for 10 years. They certainly are pushing the boundaries these FMX kids!
Is it good or bad!! Bad if its my boy risking a broken back, good to watch on tv, but a bit, same old, same old, after watching trick after trick!
Like that rentable quad ramp on KB here. Bugger goin up that at speed!! Freckin Crazzzzy!!!
Just my 2c!

yeah it def changed from a lifstyle thing to a big $$$ paying job, it used to be all abt being in the desert hitting sand dunes and other natural terrain jumps but then went to perfectly designed ramps with perfectly designed landings inside big stadiums for the crowds, fmx is way overated and casts a big shadow over mx/sx, like you say rick, its same old same old!

To get good at FMX you need a foam pit, and foam pits are way above most people's reach in term's of money and not to forget space/land, its that simple.
If you want to get good and get paid good money you need to flip. My favourite trick's are still the right side up like "the rock solid" and the "KOD"
I think alot of people are tired of seeing the same tricks over and over but really its no different that Skateboarding or BMX, it been much of the same for the last 5 years but for me i still enjoy watching it.
Some ppl like watching Golf (now there is an overated job that pays too much)
and some like watching action sports, so to each ther own.
If i had the space and money i would give FMX a go.

Ouch.... looks painful.
I don't care how overrated ppl say FMX is, it takes a lot of balls and talent to pull those tricks off and it deserves all the publicity it can get.
My 2 cents.

I agree, a big whip looks better than anything imo.
