My name is Wendy and I live in Newcastle NSW.
I have just bought my third new Buell, an 1125CR in black.
My previous Buells were a 2003 XB9R Firebolt that I owned for 6 years and before that a 1999 model X1 Lightning I bought in 2000.
I am very, very old and have been riding for 36 years and before the Buells I owned a Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans MkIII for 15 years and 230,000 klms but the arthritis in my right thumb got too painful so I went for the Buells.
I have owned a Honda 400/4, Yamaha XV750 Midnight Special, Ducati 900SD Darmah, Yamaha XJ650, Norton ES2 1956, BSA 250 C11, 2 Moto Guzzis, 3 Buells.
I started on off-road bikes but went to road bikes at age 28.
My dad was a motorcycle mechanic and my mum started riding British bikes when she was 18, I was a late starter at age 20.
My husband liked my new Buell so much he bought his own and did a track day on it when it was 2 weeks old and is now addicted to speed.
Good on ya Wendy.
My Son Lives up in Townsville.... he too has a XB9R Firebolt.
He loves it too.
I been for a couple of rides on it, but it's just not my style.... nowhere to put my impressive Ab :msn-wink:
It's feet forward for me.

Welcome!
I'm impressed- you have one of the new ones!
Sooooo, having had each of the 3 generation models of Buell- how does the new one compare? The gearbox HAS to be better than the Harley one surely?

You gotta crate them up and bring them over Wendy. Bucket list.
I got better than the Putty road 20ks from my house. And there are hundreds of ks of it.
Some of you KB roosters, show Wendy some of your favourite roads.

Big Dave............
Where the hell was that photo of you on my XB taken?..........I don't remember that at all.
Must have been just after I got it because it doesn't have the Ventura rack on it or the frame pucks and Kevin doesn't have a grey beard and the old FLH is there too.
You look like a hippy you old fart.
We sold the Norton and the BSA last January, the Norton we had for 19 years and the BSA for 20 years. The new owner is a member of the Norton club so they went to a good home.
Kevin has put my Ventura rack on and some heated hand grips on the new Buell and they work very well, I went away earlier this month with my girls club up to Bendemeer, the other side of Tamworth, and they were on the whole time. The temperature thing on the Buell said it was 6 degree but it was colder than that I reckon.
It is taking me a while to get use to this new one, my gear changes aren't the best and it is a lot more responsive than the XB9 throttle wise and it is a little taller too, lucky I'm 5'6".
The dash is fogging up so it will be fixed under warranty soon, I can't see what gear I'm in and what the speed is and I can't read the trip 1 when it's fogged, Kevin's is the same but not quite as bad as mine is.
Every bugger likes the red CRs better than the black, typical!! and it's called "Racing Red" of all things. How do you like his new leathers and full face helmet Dave?.........pretty gay eh?
Wouldn't catch me in an outfit like that............people would throw stones at me.

Glad to hear the Norton went to a good home.when a young fella my old lady did the runner so i was lucky enough to see an old 650SS restored in the lounge, every night the old man would sit around hand polishing cases etc, many years later a bloke turned up wanting to buy it,the old fella said "no,i dont ride it much anymore but its better off where it is"the guy persisted and turned out he wanted it for a collection up Auckland way so the old man sold it to him, hopefully it ended up there and is still primo.

I haven't had a haircut since then either.
We rode up to Wolembi Pub - I had that rented Honda ST1100. Rusty was staying out at Bob's mates place near there and we rode back together.
Pic was when we stopped for a leg stretch just off the New England Hwy out of Maitland.
Won't get on his case about the hat. Right equipment for the machine. Who wants to look at that mug anyway!

I agree. Something has been lost in the translation.
Plus the 1125 has side-boobs. I would be a looker without them. Eric doing his own thing again I guess.

lost... I find they are more like a Aprila or Duc, were as get on a tuber or fuel framer (XB) and its more like being a bad arse.
I duno whats with the side boobs, terable things... if Honda can have side mounted radiators on the VTR and VFR and have the bikes narower, why cant Buell.
IMHO its cos Buell take the air in the side rather than out the side fairing.

Because he can, dare to be different and own the corners, and the air space in front of our radiators ! Plus they look like they will bite you if you get in the way, that's why, they look ugly at first, a bit like dave C. but, you learn to love em !
It was the first time at the track the scrutineers could remember a bike with an "Interim" label on it, let alone a first time Sport bike owner and his first time on a track, no wonder they all offered advice and help after the first two sessions. Power slide out of a corner, rear wheel off the ground under brakes, front wheel off the ground heading down the straight 9,000 rpm with only just having 1,000 k's on the bike, big learning curve !
The beard is staying, it's still heaps quicker than the Electraglide.
Not too shabby on the tyre eh Bro, fully scruffed Bro, would you like a chup Bro to go with that fully scruffed tyre Bro, don't eat chups just Plunktun and insects at high speeds Bro ! (Trip typed this bit, eh Bro )

Just playing with ya, there were two CR's at the recent 'sound of thunder' race meet and they were in the top 5, the faster IIRC getting 1sts and or 2nd's against a XBRR from Oz. :scooter:
