18 inch tyres

Dragged myself and the new (To me) bucket out to Mt Welly for the practice on Saturday and proceeded to have a huge amount of fun and end up on my ear three times. Part of the problem is my lack of anything resembling skill and grace on a motorcycle and part (I hope) is the fact that the tyres on it are 90 years older than god. I know that in a perfect world I would slap some 17 inch rims on and run slicks and this is part of the long term plan. However in the short term I'm going to have to whack on some new rubber in the 2.75/18 front and 90/90 18 rear sizes, recomendations anyone? they don't seem to be all that popular these days with the people that actually make round black rubber things.

BT39's would be the best.
But they are fairly well priced unless you can get them 2nd hand from some one.

There's also the Conti Go's what are OKAY for a bucket, but nothing fantastic. You can get Conti Go's fairly cheap brand new.

Slicks and 17's might actually be cheaper. Apart from some handling advantages the main reason for the use of 17's is due to the availability of CHEAP actually sticky tyres.

I agree with Quallman1234, you may find 17's and slick could end up being a cheaper option?

Maybe try some sava mc7's? can't speak for the grip personally, but lots of brit moped racers use em. I think there based on the dunlop tt900.

i tell you what i got a pirelli race tyre that was designed for classic bikes.The good thing about it was the tred pattern was like slick at the extreme edge but very grooved on the rest of tyre.Would make great wet and dry tyre.
The compound was the same as corsa
