Hello out there.. On Sunday Aug 2nd A group of us are going on a little ride up to Kaiaua (just up past Miranda hot springs).

This is a very 250cc friendly ride  (as with near all of our rides) with a wide variety of people and bikes and a couple learner 250cc riders.. So if ya have just got your 250cc bike or are about to get one come down on the Sunday 2nd August at anywhere between 9am and 10am to the Kingsgate Hotel in Hamilton and if you're hungry there is a buffet breakfast for only $10..

Nobody will get left behind, ride at you own pace, We have a couple of women on 250cc bikes as well so you won't be the only woman here when we ride... We look forward to seeing you there :)

If you have a bigger bike and don't want to ride with the throttle wide open or with your hair on fire you're more than welcome to come along too

Well said young man, as a LOR myself our rides catter for most levels of riders there are the ones who like to go little faster than you are legally allowed and there those who are gaining experience of not just riding but also riding in a group. we are a friendly group who encourage each other to ride better. basically what spazm has said is the nuts and bolts of it.

hey, im from hamilton.. been restricted to the 250 because im only on my learners..

anyways long story short, the only people i know with bikes have 1000s etc and tho they said they would wait for me i still feel silly.

does anyone do rides or want to ride with a 250?? seems hard to find people to ride with..

This is how we started so if this sounds like you.. come along as there will be people who ride 250cc bikes at the pace that you feel comfortable with..

How many sprogs you got? If theres just one strap them onto the back. If theres 2 then a sidecar could be in order.... More than 2-3 kids though a trailer could work :scooter::rockon:

That sounds awesome, but I might have to raincheck it, this weekend we are in cleaning mode for getting the house ready for the landlords to put on the market. I think my weekends are going to be a bit up in the air for the next few weeks. But if I can get free should I drop you a text?

We are starting to pack already... starting with her books!!:gob:

The weather is gonna be mint for this Sunday. I'm hoping to get the wife out on this ride as well since she doesn't ride her stead much anymore. I'm thinking that it'll be perfect ride for it.

mmm harsh browns mmmmm

Oh and for those people that have been thinking about doing a ride with people from a forum, and have been a bit apprehensive about it...I was in exactly in the same boat.

I was umming and ahhhing for ages about actually meeting up with a bunch of randoms to go on a ride. Especially when I had only been riding a very short amount of time.

My first ride was with this group was to Kawhia. I meet everyone in Pirongia and people approached me to chat and stuff. Turned out to be an eventful ride. A rider in a totally unrelated group came off and some of this group stopped to help.

I thought I was holding people up but like everyone told me afterwards, they were quite capable of passing if they wanted. That made me relax a hell of a lot more and really enjoyed myself.

Haven't looked back and are really good mates with some really cool people. Absolutely happy that I took the plunge and went on one of the rides. It helped my riding a hell of a lot.

So seriously, for those thinking about it but are undecided, give it a go this Sunday. If you don't know anyone and no one is coming up to talk to you, stand by a Triumph and others will come :Punk: It's amazing how it works (just avoid standing next to Kwaka ZX10's ;))

The AG100 and GN I had way back were both red. And just to bring the thread back on topic.. the GN was a 250 LOL

As for black

You could be Back in Black or

you could Fade to Black

so therefore black is unsure of itself and may not even exist.

Deals were insanely good and i couldn't pass them up, the mistake i made was riding the 600 before i got my full... if i hadn't done that i wouldn't have lost the love for the old 250 screamer :)

My 600 cost me a little more than half the price of its exhaust system.

Pick me pick me pick me. And the funny thing is, the Hyosung is out in the tin garden shed, on gravel and doesn't get nearly as dusty as the Trumpy. That's just cruel.

That is from 6pm, It is well clear before then. And even the green raincloud does not mean its going to break :) It just mean's we are going to have sun up until around 4 pm, then fluffy gray things might appear overhead.

But I would say generally, Sunday is going to be mint !!!! :)

You guys/girls have a real good unit happening there, the Manawatu riders are the same, real good bunch.

I don't know tony sorry.

Hey there LOR's, was mighty kind of you all to allow our small band of Blast From The Past riders to come along and join in the fun.
We had a great day and a brilliant ride, those roads are awesome and will be travelled again by the BFTP riders one of these days.
Really did enjoy meeting up with some of you again and meeting others who I didn't know, names and faces don't always stick but these sorts of rides help alot.
Once again, cheers for the company and a great day out.
We'll be back to the Mighty Waikato soon.
The clouds were "racing" across the sky and the old sun was "fanging" it to keep up, but the weather held and everyone got home safe , glad of that I am.

Its a fairly technical route but you don't have to blaze it or try and be in front, just take your time and enjoy :)

Normally there's a collection of cruzy riders in the group or someone will look after you :) maybe come along to the breakfast and check out who comes along before making a decision whether to go or not.

Balance, confidence, braking dynamics, simple leaning, throttle control.. Much like what you learn on any corner just softened a little.

Hi It's OCT 14. I have only just found this thread. I have been wanting to find an existing group or start one in the Waikato for bikes up to riders happy to run at 90-100. I want to start an informal group, with the emphasis on riding within your confidence level without having to 'compete' with others.
Will you try for another run? I am avalible for weekday rides if anyone is keen. There are many side roads around my town (Te Awamutu) that are a lot of fun without having to go like hell. Give me a call if interested,

Welcome, our main thread is called Laxed Out Rides and we try and ride every Sunday. theres a few from out TA way. It is pretty informal and I usually end up Tail End Charle as my wife & friend ride 250's and are pretty new to riding. Its all about the company, the ride, the destination and not being pressured beyond you ability. As the weather improves more riders will come out of mothballs.

Rock up about 9 if you wanna get to know a few people first or brekky. The rides leave about 10 generally.

Even if you don't wanna go on this long ride and you can, turn up and ask what level people are. Then you can get an idea of who will be sweet to ride with in the future. If those people put their name down for rides, you'll know there'll be a cruise group.

Me, I ride mid-pack so not one of the fast ones. A little bit quicker than a cruise though. When I want a break, I hang back. Gotta mix life up a little.

Oh and with regard to Rainbows End, don't fall asleep on the roller coaster. Kids cry because you ruin their photo :baby:

I go to Kingsgate to meet but no bikes.
I wait but steel no bikes.
I theenk these LOR hombres all have hurt bikes or hurt bodies or recovering from too much tequila last night.
I go to Raglan.
Lucky not much traffic as I ride over the divvy like I'm driving a shopping trolley.
It ez a bit windy and I remember to relax the arms and hang on with the legs - much better.
I ride back like Mr Speedy.
