So the only way the buell can be competitive is to race japanese bikes with half its engine capacity??

Even off the showroom floor, it's 146hp vs 100hp for supersport 600s! 111Nm vs 70Nm of torque...

why are they in the same class?

'cos they need to be able to compete and also to look good ;)
