I'm thinking about buying a cheap keg setup, only problem is that it doesn't include a pressure gauge. So I was thinking about buying a boost gauge and drilling a hole in the keg or making a T piece in one of the keg hoses and hooking the gauge up to that, do you guys think that would work?

I take it you are talking about homebrew beer
you ging to need a set of gauges
food grade co2. is about 5000psi.
the keg will only take about 20 psi max.
i have been brewing in a keg for years. pm me for advice.

Yes it will work.
Yes the correct pressure is critical.
BUT don't buy a cheap gauge.

This keg setup doesn't include a regulator either, it uses a button to release CO2 from the bottle to the keg, and I was thinking if I have a pressure gauge hooked up to it then I don't really need a regulator do I?

Best you put on a blow off valve as well, then when the shift light comes on to tell you the beer is ready to drink, the BOV will go psssshhhhhh and all the blind cunts will know the beer is ready too!

I might get a sequential BOV for it as well and a front mount intercooler to cool the beer even more.

Boy racer beer! It makes a lot of noise when it comes and leaves a big stain when it goes!:Punk:

I'll hook up a boost gauge and connect a small 12v battery to it and have that to power the back light on the gauge. Then I could hook up a BOV to the vent on the keg so when I need to vent off excess pressure I can get that nice ppppsssshhhhhhhtttttttt sound, purely for the wank factor. I will need a source of vacuum to open the BOV though. I'm sure I could find a way of connecting up a monsta tacho to the tap to see how fast I'm pouring the beer...
