After 37 years of sitting on the back or in a side car (yes I am that old) and only 5ft2... I got on a 400cc kawasaki Zephyr tonight and loved it... it was so easy I couldn't stop grinning... I am seriously thinking of downgrading the car, and getting a bike by summer... woop.

Good stuff :sunny: however don't assume the heaviness will feel as cumbersome once you have been riding again for a wee while.
I used to think the SV was a huge heavy monster  now it feels like one of my old 250s - seriously the ZXR250 was a bit tall for me and I never quite got comfy on it before I had a break from riding for 5 years before getting the SV.

Well I didn't need one, cause everyone around me had one, and they had no problem taking me out.... and I am a little older than 38 ;)

I think the kids might get upset about that.... maybe a sidecar for those days when I need to get them to school lol
Ok I got into 2nd gear today, and stopped and started, and stalled, and put my feet up, and bloody hell the bike is heavy, but man it felt good.

Stalling is nothing to be ashamed of at all. I sometimes resort to it, just to be able to find neutral
Something much, much more embarrassing than that is...
Taking off from some lights and changing up to second, only to miss and select neutral. The resulting roar from your engine attracts far more attention than simply quietly stalling I can assure you

Oh I like to stall it that way I know what I am doing wrong (this time not enough throttle), takes a lot to embarrass me hehe.... who invented 1st N 2nd anyway... lol

Get into it Gal :sunny:
I always liked the Zephyr range, I was tempted by the 750 & 1100 when they came out years ago. An interesting note is that the NZ new models had traditional wire spoke wheels and the imports from Japan (ironically where the NZ new came from as well ....) had cast ones.

Well Geordie is considering moving up to the 750cc, I was never a retro style biker, but this bike is easy to handle, and low enough for me. I am having 2nd thoughts about what 250 to get eventually, sports or cruiser. :)

How cool is that! If you learn on a 400 then the 250 will feel a little "thin" once you get it. Proud of ya!

I sold my Nissan GTT Skyline for a 121 Bubble FFS. Got a mean little Prilly RS250 track bike with the remaining funds. Sold my dream car for my dream bike!! (Funny how things change like that)

What do you call a "collection" of hyosongs?
Besides - if you had a 'proper' collection - would you really stay riding a 650 Hyo'bag ? Im guessing not.
